Elizabeth Takes Big Hit When Aces Cracked

We arrived at the hand to see a raised flop of {10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} being played out between Shannon Elizabeth and another player at her table.

Elizabeth checked the flop from the big blind and called when her opponent bet 1,000 from the button. When the {4-Spades} came on the turn, Elizabeth led out with a bet of 2,400 and was called by her opponent.

The river was the {7-Spades} and the button player moved all in before Elizabeth had a chance to act. She said she would make a bet equal to her opponent's stack and flipped up {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. When she saw her opponent's {a-Spades}{5-Spades}, she looked crushed, saying "I can't believe you were chasing the flush."

After the hand, Elizabeth was down to 9,000 chips.

Ng Playing Aggressively

Evelyn Ng seems to be working hard to keep her chip lead. Every time we walk by her table she's raising pots, many of them going uncontested as she adds the not unsubstantial blinds and antes to her stack, nearing 50,000.

Oh Bui!

Oanh Bui raised to 750 under the gun and found one caller from the hijack. The flop came down {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Bui moved all in with the bigger stack. Her opponent made the all-in call with {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Bui tabled {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The turn and river ran out the {10-Hearts} and {2-Spades}, respectively, missing Bui's opponent.

Oanh Bui is up to 8,100 after the hand.

Dragon Lady Growing

Gretchen Brummer (The Dragon Lady) came out on the fortunate end of a suckout when she found herself all in with {7-}{7-} vs an opponent's {a-}{a-}. She loudly asked the dealer for a 7, which she delivered upon request.

She is now up to 7,000.

Sometimes a High Card Will Do It

Over at 34 we had player go all in with two callers. The players saw a flop of {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and checked through the {a-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Hearts} on the river.

When all was said and done, the player in Seat 9 tabled {j-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and both opponents, including the all-in player, mucked.

Small Hit For Elizabeth

Shannon Elizabeth limped in from middle position and saw a flop with the player in the big blind. It came down {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades} and both checked. The {6-Diamonds} hit the turn and the player in the big blind bet 450. Elizabeth raised it to 1,200 and her opponent called. Both checked the {7-Spades} river card and Shannon's opponent revealed {K-Hearts}{5-Spades} to win the pot.

Shannon Elizabeth dropped to 18,500.
