David Webb is out after two consecutive pots went afoul.
In the first, Webb opened with a button raise, and Alexander Borteh called from the big blind. On the flop of , Borteh check-raised to two bets, and Webb made it three bets to go. Borteh called the extra small bet, and the two men check-checked the turn. When the fell on fifth street, one Borteh bet was enough to scare Webb out of the pot quickly.
The following hand, Webb raised from the cutoff, and big blind Domenico Denotaristefani made the call. Just like the last hand, Webb was check-raised on a flop of , and he made it three bets to go. His opponent re-reraised, and Webb reraised all in. He turned up only to see that Denotaristefani's had out-flopped him in a big way. The on the turn was a blank, and so was the river, and Webb's evening is done.
Steve Chanthabouasy raised it up from the cutoff and Phil Gordon made the call from the big blind.
The flop fell down and Gordon fired out 3,000 only to be raised by Chanthabouasy. Gordon made the call for his tournament life and the cards were tabled.
Gordon:
Chanthabouasy:
Unfortunately for Gordon the turn and river would fall running jacks and tens to see his pair of fours counterfeited by Chanthabouasy's ace-high as he made his way to the rail while Chanthabouasy stacked his chips to around the 155,000-chip mark.
Andrew Rennhack raised from the cutoff seat, and Michael Binger three-bet from the button.
The two men took a flop of , and Rennhack check-called a Binger bet. He did the same on the turn, and both players check-checked the river.
Binger mucked when he saw Rennhack turn over , and Rennhack chips up over 50,000. Going the other way, the mousy quiet Binger is down to his last 30,000.
In virtually a copy and paste scenario from the previous hand, David Webb entered the pot under the gun with a raise to 6,000 only to have Domenico Denotaristefani three-bet to 9,000 from the small blind. Webb made it 9,000 and Denotaristefani raised to 14,500 to put Webb all in.
Webb:
Denotaristefani:
The board ran out to see Webb find another double through Denotaristefani to 32,000 as Denotaristefani slips to 160,000 in chips.
After sitting still for a couple orbits, Tommy Hang got his chips into the pot once again on a flop of . Brian Horton called him down with , and Hang's put him in immediate danger of elimination.
The turn didn't change anything, and the river sent hang out the door in 28th place.
It has been spoken of many times about how cold it is here in the Amazon Room, and the fact that some players believe the tables are centered in a wind tunnel.
Well after the players spoke up once again, the powers to be brought in someone to measure exactly how cold it is around the tables in play.
Consequently the Tournament Directors on hand decided that the temperature - whatever it was measured to be - was deemed to be too cold and therefore two of the tables in play were moved.
Let's just say that the players are much happier, and won't need to rug up as much as these players did in a previous event!
Eduardo Miranda bumped it to 6,000 from the button only to be faced with a re-raise from Al Barbieri.
Miranda made the call before he raised Barbieri's bet on a flop. Barbieri made the call before leading when the landed on the turn as Miranda made the call.
The river landed the and after a 6,000-chip bet from Barbieri, Miranda two-bet to 12,000 with Barbieri calling.
Miranda tabled his for a backdoor flush to take the pot down and move to 120,000 as Barbieri slips to 91,000 in chips.
