Hachem Hits the Rail

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

Harold McDonald raised from early position, and Team PokerStars Pro Joe Hachem reraised all in for his last 14,500. McDonald quickly made the call.

McDonald {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Hachem {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The board ended up a bunch of low cards -- {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} -- and the 2005 WSOP Main Event champ is out about 20 spots shy of the cash. (Remember, the top 54 pay in this event.)

McDonald is now at 74,500.

The Story So Far? T.J., T.J., T.J.

T.J. Cloutier
T.J. Cloutier

Looking for a headline for the first part of Day 2 of Event No. 28? How about "Cloutier Crushing"?

Just now Cloutier cruised past the 200,000-chip mark -- the first player to do so -- following a hand with Ashkan Razavi. Preflop betting had already begun the pot-building when the flop came {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, at which point Cloutier bet 27,000 and Razavi called. The turn was the {J-Clubs}, and when Cloutier bet pot again, Razavi got out.

Cloutier now sits with 215,000, while Razavi slips back to 75,000.

Another Player Down

On a board of {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and with 6,000 in the pot, Louis Abronson checked and Luc Greenwood bet 4,000. Abronson then raised the pot, only to have Greenwood raise all in. Abronson made the call for his tournament life and they flipped over their cards:

Abronson: {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Greenwood: {3-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The turn card was the {3-Clubs} and the river {2-Clubs}. Greenwood won the pot and is up to 70,000. Abronson was eliminated from the tournament.
