Pham's Eights Good for 9K

David Pham had raised to 400 when the hickack shoved for a little over 2,000. Players at the table folded around to Pham, who made the call.

Hickack: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Pham: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Pham had to fade an ace, which he did as the cards came down {k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

After the hand Pham was up to 9,000.

Sands Up in Tournament, Down in Props

David Sands was recently all in preflop against one opponent and had some sweating to do with his {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} up against his opponent's {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

The board ran out {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Sands was back up to 5,500.

On the very next hand the player under the gun raised to 225 and a player in middle position called. Sands responded with a three-bet to 825 from the cutoff and Tim West four-bet for 2,575 from the small blind. Action was folded around to Sands who moved all in with West calling.

Sands: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
West: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The two ended up chopping as the board ran out {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. However, even with the chop, West ended up ahead. It turns out West and Sands have prop bets on the board. West had red jacks and fours, which he hit. That win pocketed him $60.

Brenes Back From Red

Humberto Brenes was a short stack when he raised preflop only to have the small blind re-raise. Brenes responded by going all in for 1,600 and got a call.

Brenes: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Brenes may have been outkicked, but he paired his ten when the flop came {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. He managed to stay ahead through the {2-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Spades} on the river and is now up to 3,700.

Giang Not Off to Bobby's Room Just Yet

Chau Giang had 3,000 chips and plenty of room to play when he went all in preflop with one caller coming along for the ride.

Giang: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Giang saw he was behind and didn't seem too concerened, saying "I don't care if I go to Bobby's Room."

He won't be going just yet, though. The flop came {3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Giang's set stayed ahead through the turn and river. He is now up to about 7,000 chips.

The board spread out {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Baker is now up to 2550 chips.

Dunst Takes a Turn for the Better

Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst

Tony Dunst has been riding a short stack as of late and recently shoved all in when action was folded to him in the small blind. The player in the big blind didn't hesitate to call and we soon saw that Dunst was in bad shape.

Dunst: {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Dunst stood up and put on his jacket when the flop came {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, but paused when the turn brought the {3-Spades}. With the {10-Clubs} on the river, Dunst was able to sit back down and will keep plugging away. He is now at about 2,350 chips.
