Kitai Pips Opponent

Davidi Kitai saw a raised flop four ways. It came out {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, and Kitai checked his small blind. The next player to act bet 3,600, and the other two folded before Kitai made the call. Then Kitai and his opponent checked down the {9-Diamonds} turn and {j-Diamonds} river. Kitai's {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} were good for the pot as the other player turned over a pair of sixes. Kitai has 26,500 to work with now.

Flack Catching No More

Layne Flack was confident he was going to stick around for awhile, but it turns out his predictive powers were a little off. He was heads up on a {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades} board. Flack shipped in his last 7,400, and his opponent played sheriff with {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Flack was caught in the act with {a-Diamonds}{6-} and sent to the rail as punishment.

Maven Down

David Chicotsky's {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} held up against his opponent's {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} through the {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop and the {4-Hearts} turn. But as the Maven will teach you, you've got to dodge five cards in this game. The {a-Hearts} on the river was all it took to take down the mighty Maven.

Chomping at the Chip(s)

One player opened to 1,050, and the small blind called. Humberto Brenes bumped it up to 8,000, and the original raiser moved all in. The small blind got out of the way, and Brenes called with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} to race the other player's {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. The board came {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and Brenes took out his opponent. He was up to 51,000 then, and a few hands later had 60,000. "The shark is hungry," he told us.

Spurlock Can't Be Stopped

After his opponent raised to 975, the current chip leader, Darren Spurlock, reraised to 3,000. The other player moved all in for a total of 10,000, and Spurlock called with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. He looked likely to drop some of his big stack to his opponent with {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, but the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop had something to say about that. The {10-Hearts} turn and {4-Diamonds} river kept him in the lead, busting the short stack. Spurlock is even further out in front now with 95,000.

PokerStars Pro Salles Sailing

Team PokerStars Pro: Brazil member Gualter Salles was heads up on a {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} board. When his opponent checked, Salles bet 1,600. The other player paid to see the {10-Diamonds} on the turn and acted like he really, really liked the scare card, moving all in. Salles liked it too, however, and looked up his opponent with {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for a rivered two pair. The other man showed {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} on his way to the door. Salles is up to 17,000.

Gray Gets What He Wants

Jason Gray got it all in pre with {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} against an opponent with {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Gray just had the man's 12,000 covered. The {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} made things interesting. The turn was a {3-Diamonds}, and Gray had to dodge one more card. He called for the safest thing he could think of - a black deuce. The dealer burned and peeled the {2-Clubs} for Gray. With the elimination, Jason is up to 24,000.
