As we are nearing the end of the day, a number of notable are falling by the wayside. Tom "durrrr" Dwan has busted and so has Gavin Smith. Phil Ivey won't be winning back-to-back H.O.R.S.E. bracelets as he is another Day 1 casualty.

At about 1:45 am, the power suddenly went out in the Amazon Room. Being that there are no windows and the emergency power failed for a few seconds, it was completely pitch black dark. The tournament staff ordered the dealers to stop and for players to protect their chips. Still, some players couldn’t help but joke.
“PokerNews . . . PokerNews says there is a new chip leader,” Jean Robert joked, “It’s Men Nguyen.” That filled the room with a mixed reaction of laughs and “ohhhhhs” and seemed to lighten the mood.
The back-up lights kicked in, but the room still remained relatively dark. Tournament staff announced a ten minute break to try and figure out the power situation as the main lights remained down. Luckily, the lights are back on and players are back in their seats. We are going to play one more level.
There's been a power outage in the Amazon Room, and at the Rio. Internet is out, tournament clocks are out, and emergency generators are providing limited lighting. The tournament is playing on and we'll be back as soon as possible.

Nguyen check-called, before check-raising the
turn. His opponent made the call and again on the
river.
"Aces baby," said Nguyen but his opponent opened up

"That's good baby," said Nguyen as he took a hit to his stack. At the moment it's difficult to count his stack as he has mixed up every chip denomination in his multi-colored stacks, but we're going to guestimate 60,000.

Friedman was all in on fourth street as betting continued between Ivey and Seat 3. On seventh, Ivey mucked to Seat 3's bet, who then turned over a full house. "I'm drawing to one out. I need the seven of spades," Friedman said. He squeezed out his last card but it was not meant to be, Friedman was eliminated from the tournament late on Day 1.

Things aren't looking too good for Tom "durrrr" Dwan to collect on his bracelet bets in this event as he's slipped down to just 6,000 following a clash with Brian Townsend.
On the river Townsend check-raised and Dwan made a crying call, only to be shown
-X-X to match the three spades on board for the nut flush for the scoop.
David Williams, Matt Savage and Zac Fellows have all been eliminated from the tournament.

Abe Mosseri raised to 2,000 and the player in Seat 4 reraised to 3,000. The player on the button then discovered that he had been dealt five cards. Since he didn't know which cards were which, the floor was called.
It was determined that since there had been action, the button's hand would be killed and the rest of the hand would continue. The blinds folded back to Mosseri who made the call. When the

flopped, Mosseri bet 1,000 and Seat 4 called.
Mosseri continued to bet when the

came on the river. Both players checked and Seat 4 turned over

for three kings.
"You win," Mosseri muttered as he checked his card. He was down to just 9,000 after the hand.
