Men Nguyen raised to 16,000, and Ryan D'Angelo announced pot. The bet he slid out was 5,000 short of the 57,000 in the pot, and Nguyen tried to argue that he hadn't actually said "pot," but the dealer and the rest of the table heard it, so it stood. Nguyen called.
The flop fell , and Men asked the dealer how much was in the middle. The dealer responded that it was 123,000. Nguyen moved all in for less, 107,000 to be exact. "Uh, I'm really not getting good flops." As the rest of the tables finished their hands, the players crowded around the table. G0lfa asked if anyone else had busted, but no one had. The other tables were waiting for him to make the call or not. He had Nguyen slightly covered, but a call wouldn't leave him with enough chips to make it through more than another hand or two. Nguyen, meanwhile, was breathing hard and looked like he might swallow his tongue.
With a curse under his breath, D'Angelo nodded and announced a call. Nguyen didn't want to turn his up, but aware of the Master's love of waiting til the last moment to table the nuts, G0lfa asked the dealer to make him show. Nguyen was embarrassed by the bluff gone wrong, but the dealer took the cards out of his hand and spread them on the felt.
Nguyen:
D'Angelo:
D'Angelo was stunned to see how far ahead he was. The turn and river were anticlimactic. Nguyen didn't say a word. He didn't make eye contact with anyone or tell D'Angelo it was a terrible call. He just picked up his backpack and walked away. And the table instantly erupted in congratulations for G0lfa's call, for his choice of bubble victim, and for making the money. D'Angelo is up to 380,000, and everyone is guaranteed $10,000.
Roger Teska raised to 14,000, and Annette Obrestad called. Eric Liu joined them on the button, and Andy Black called out of the big blind. "Remember, I've got you covered," Annette said to Teska. The flop came . Black and Teska checked, and Obrestad checked as well. Liu stuck out 30,000 in position, and it folded back to Annette. She potted, sliding another 100,000 in front of her. That would put Liu all in on the bubble. He took two minutes to think it over and decided to fold, saving himself 85,000. Annette chipped up to 255,000 and looks perfectly at home pillaging a tournament bubble.
It can't be fun to be all in on the bubble, so it must have been with enormous relief that Nam Le survived unscathed. His came good on a and he doubled to 94,000 through Chance Kornuth.

It's that time again. We'll pause for 20 minutes so players can gather strength for hand-for-hand which is only one elimination away. After this break, there are two levels left in the night. With 47 still kicking and a bubble yet to burst, looks like tomorrow will be a long day and night and possibly day again to reach a winner.
There were two limpers before Mike Piper shoved from the button. One limper folded quickly, but Ran Azor thought about it for a long time. Eventually he folded and turned to us. "No action, sorry." he laughed.
Next hand Azor and Piper got to the flop before Piper's chips went in.

The unfortunate Piper is busto, two places off the money. Azor is up to 400,000.
Josh Tieman was all in on a flop, and Ali al Jenabi called to put him at risk as the bubble approaches.
Tieman: for two pair with a gutshot
Jenabi: for an overpair, top pair, and one of Tieman's gutshot outs
The on the turn gave Tieman three pair and Jenabi an open-ender. But the river blanked. Tieman's two pair doubled him up, and a few hands later, he was stacking 205,000. Al Jenabi was left with 80,000.
Ryan D'Angelo bet at a flop, and Men Nguyen moved all in for his last 36,000. Julian Gardner reshoved for 70,000, and D'Angelo called them both.
Nguyen: for top pair
Gardner: for second pair and the nut-flush draw
D'Angelo: for an inferior flush draw, second pair, backdoor straight draw, and set draw
The turn gave Nguyen trips, and the river blanked for everyone. Nguyen tripled up to 165,000. Gardner took the side pot with kings and queens with an ace, meaning he's up to 130,000. And D'Angelo dropped to 170,000.
"YES!" cried Nguyen as he tripled up.
"Uh-oh," said someone at the next table, "I don't like that sound..."
We just caught the extreme tail end of the hand, which involved almost all of Michael Piper's chips heading into the stack of Danny Smith as Piper announced, "So brutal." We understand it was aces against aces, and the board brought a treat for Smith.
Piper - down to just 25,000
Smith - up to 270,000
