Day 2 Dawns

Good afternoon and welcome back to the Rio where Day 2 will be kicking off in around an hour.

To our knowledge Marc Sander was in the lead last night on 98,000. The official counts show Daniel Smith to be gigantic chip leader on 229,000 - whether this is a clerical error, some bag-labeling hijinks, or whether Mr. Smith actually had a massive surge in the last few hands of the night, we're not sure, but we'll be able to clear that up as soon as the chips are out on the tables.

502 players remain - considerably fewer than than the 585 the board was displaying at the close of play - but there is a long, long way to go before we're even in the money, and we are scheduled to play down to a final table. Play is due to begin at 3pm. See you then.
