Erick Lindgren opened to 800 and found two callers before an opponent in the big blind moved all in for 14,650. Lindgren made the call as the other two players folded.
Lindgren:
Opponent:
The board ran out to see Lindgren double his opponent up and slip to just 475 in chips.
The next hand Lindgren committed what remained holding but was unable to outdraw an opponent's after the board fell .
"Good luck guys" Lindgren uttered as he left the table thirty minutes shy of the dinner break.
"Hey dude, what's the chip leader got?" asked one of the players in the tournament to our PokerNews reporter.
"There is a guy over there - Jordan Rich - who has around 40,000."
"How about any notables?"
"Jean-Robert Bellande has been up there all day" our PokerNews reporter responded.
"No, I said notables" added the player in a sarcastic tone.
To be fair, Bellande has been up the leaderboard all day and sits with just over 35,00 at the moment.
Although he may not be a notable in some poker circles, his poker CV does boast ten WSOP cashes including one final table and over $1,000,000 in tournament earnings.
Phil Gordon was in the small blind when action folded to him. He opted to raise to 600 only to have the player in the big blind move all in. Gordon made the call for his tournament life and was ahead when the cards were flipped.
Gordon:
Big Blind:
Gordon's hand quickly became an underdog when the flop came , leaving him in desperate need of a ten. Unfortunatley, the on the turn and on the river didn't help and Gordon was sent home.
Action folded around to Mark Seif who was in the small blind. He opted to raise to 550 and was called by the player in the big blind, who had about 3,300 behind.
The flop came and Seif checked. The big blind bet 650 and Seif made the call. Both the on the turn and on the river were checked.
Seif turned over but wasn't good against the big blind's . The big blind took down the 2,400 pot while Seif took a 1,200 hit to his stack.
A player in early position raised to 525 and was called by the player to his left. Shane Schleger raised to 1,900 and both players made the call.
Tha flop fell and both players checked to Schleger, who bet 3,400. Only one of his two opponents made the call. That player checked the on the turn and Schleger pushed the rest of his chips in the pot.
The player immediately called and confidently turned up . Unfortunately for him, he was far behind Schleger's . The river was the and Schleger eliminated and opponent while increasing his stack to 28,000.
Tommy Le opened to 550 from under the gun, and after the action folded round to Brock Parker in the big blind, he made it 1,550 to go.
Le sat there riffling chips before leaning over to peer at Parker's remaining 4,675 in chips before making the call to see a flop fall.
Parker led out for 1,550 only to have Le drop in a stack of yellow 1,000-denomination chips amounting to a raise of 6,000. Parker committed his final 3,125 and the cards were tabled.
Parker:
Le:
The turn fell the to give Le his flush but leave Parker drawing to an ace or king to improve to a full house.
Unfortunately for the multiple Bracelet winner, the river fell the to see him sent to the rail as Le climbs to over 16,000 in chips.
