Ramdin's on a Rampage

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

American Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin took down The Big Event in Los Angeles earlier this year and is in good form today, moving up to 16,300 in chips.

We managed to catch some action between Ramdin and an opponent on a board that read {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Ramdin opened from the blinds for 6,700 (roughly a pot-sized bet), sending his opponent deep into the tank. After about three minutes, he let his hand go, and Ramdin raked in his newly-found chips.

Meanwhile, Kirk Morrison managed to get back up to around 1,500 in chips. Even though he's lost two-thirds of his starting stack, he's still in great spirits and has been more than happy to chat with the railing media. "My favorite town I've ever lived in is Melbourne, Australia," Morrison said. This Aussie blogger was only too happy to hear that!

Maria Ho (who has now graciously adopted her "Super Mario" moniker) also took some time out between hands to chat with us, but then there was some heavy action on her table. The action folded around to Aaron Ruppert who raised from the button to 225 before Ho reraised to 750 from the small blind. The opponent in the big blind then four-bet it to 1,600, Ruppert shipped the rest of his stack into the middle and Ho took another look at her cards before sending them into the muck.

"I can't lay this down, I call," the big blind sighed, showing down {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Unfortunately, he'd run his queens straight into Ruppert's {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}, which had him covered all the way down the board of {K-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}, and that saw Ruppert double through.

Kling Gets Aces Cracked

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

We aren't sure how the money got in, but Lauren Kling had her opponent all in preflop and was in great shape as she had {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} against her opponent's {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}. However, the flop was a disaster as it came {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Kling couldn't catch up as the turn and river came {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Kling is crippled down to around 650 after the break.

Trickett Bounced

Sam Trickett check-raised all in for 3,500 after his opponent bet 1,500 on the board of {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The player snap-called with the {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. Trickett held the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. The turn was the {Q-Hearts} to leave Trickett drawing dead to his opponent's quads. The river completed the board with the {8-Hearts}, but Trickett was already out the door.

Rheem's Reaping & Dwan's Dominating

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

We've just received word via poker's favorite 140-character social networking site that Chino Rheem is now up to 25,000, but we've found somebody else who's got a stack even bigger.

We caught the action between Tom Dwan and an opponent on a flop that read {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Both players checked, so the dealer flipped up the {6-Hearts} on the turn. Again, his opponent checked, but this time Dwan threw out a bet worth 1,650. After about two minutes of mulling it over, the other player let his hand go.

Dwan is now on a monster stack worth more than 38,500. Small wonder that his tablemates are far too scared to play a pot with him.

McDonald Picks One Up

One player checked the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop and the next player bet 800. Mike McDonald was the third player in the hand and made the call. The first player folded.

The turn brought the {6-Hearts} and the first player checked to McDonald. He bet 1,025 and his opponent folded.

Suied Climbing

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

Danny Suied just called an opponent's all-in bet of 2,550 with the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. His opponent held {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The board ran out {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Suied's set of queens was higher than his opponent's set of fours. He's up to 27,000 now.
