"Waste of Two Days"

Jason Steinberg, Freddy Deeb, Guillaume Rivet and Andy Bloch all saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Rivet checked, Deeb bet, Steinberg called, and Bloch called all in. Rivet opted to fold. Both Deeb and Steinberg checked the turn ({4-Diamonds}) and river ({8-Spades}), and Steinberg tabled {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. Deeb mucked, and so too did Bloch, ending his tournament.

"That was a waste of two days," Bloch said sarcastically.

Barber Clipped

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Heads-up, Andrew Barber bet the {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {3-Hearts} flop, and Freddy Deeb called. Barber made one more bet on the {K-Diamonds} turn, and that one put him all in. Deeb called with {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {4-Spades}, and he had overtaken Barber's {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} with a chance at the knockout.

The river {5-Spades} gave the full pot to Deeb, and Barber is out short of the money.

Deeb is up to 185,000 as he stacks that pot, still chasing the other Deeb in the field (Shaun) by about a 2:1 margin.

Sung Fought the Law, and the Law Won

With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Ted Lawson led out into Steve Sung who called. The {a-Spades} turned, and Ted Lawson led out for his las bet. Sung called.

Lawson: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Sung: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{x-}

The {5-Hearts} bricked on the river, and Lawson doubled to 65,000 chips.

Bloch Wheels a Double

Andy Bloch was all in preflop holding {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} against Alessio Isaia's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}. The board ran {2-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}, giving Bloch a wheel and the entire pot.

Billirakis Moving Up

Steve Billirakis
Steve Billirakis

Steve Billirakis raised to open the pot, and Eric Buchman three-bet a couple seats over. Billirakis called, and he check-called bets on the {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {7-Spades} flop and {J-Hearts} turn. The river came the {9-Diamonds}, and Buchman checked behind one last Billirakis check.

Billirakis turned up {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {8-Hearts} {2-Spades}, and his aces up were strong enough to drag the pot. He's up to about 252,000 now, while Buchman has lost ground back to 157,000.

Motown for Barber

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Andrew Barber and Guillaume Rivet were heads-up with the board reading {6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Barber led out, and Rivet called. The turn was the {q-Diamonds}, and the two repeated their actions. Both players checked the {5-Clubs} on the river, and Barber opened {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs} for two-pair; jacks and fives. Rivert mucked, and Barber was shipped the pot.

Barber Scoops Bari

Andrew Barber raised from under the gun, and was called by two players including Allen Bari in the big blind. The dealer fanned {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Bari led out, and only Barber called. Both players checked the {2-Clubs} on the turn, and Bari checked again after the {7-Hearts} fell on the river. Barber tossed out a bet, Bari insta-called, and Barber opened {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for for the nut-flush and the second-nut low.

Bari mucked, and is now on the short stack.
