Phillips Turns Nut-Nut, Busts Rodman

Marco Johnson raised from late position and found two callers; Dale Phillips (cutoff) and Blair Rodman (big blind). The dealer fanned {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, Rodman checked, and Johnson tossed out a bet. Both Phillips and Rodman called.

The turn was the {j-Diamonds}, and the three repeated their actions. After the {5-Clubs} was dealt on the river however, the three players got multiple bets in, and Rodman was all in.

Phillips tabled {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades} for the nut-high and low, and was shipped the whole kit-n-kaboodle.

"Scoop!"

Matt Savage on Day 1
Matt Savage on Day 1

Frank Kassela raised in early position, and David Bach called before Matt Savage called all in for 2,000. The rest of the table folded out of the way, and there was live action on the side as the dealer ran a {10-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} board, but Kassela and Bach checked it all the way down.

Showdown
Kassela: {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {6-Spades}
Bach: {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {A-Clubs}
Savage: {4-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {A-Hearts}

"Scoop!" Savage piped up. Just like that, he's back to 7,800, though he's still too short to sit around idly for long.

Buchman Busts Hilderbrand

Level 10 : 800/1,500, 0 ante

Three players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} including Eric Buchman and Par Alexande Hilderbrand. Hilderbrand led out, the other opponent raised, and Buchman put in a third bet. Hilderbrand then made it four bets, the player in the middle folded, and Buchman called.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, Hilderbrand led out, and Buchman opted to just call. The river was the {2-Spades}, and the two got in a raising war until Hilderbrand was all in. Buchman opened {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a rivered flush, and Hilderbrand mucked before heading to the rail.

"I hope you play like that when we get back to the East Coast," tablemate Andrew Brown jabbed.

Buchman laughed and is flush with newfound chips.

So Long, Savage

The comeback was short-lived. Matt Savage was just seen walking away from the tables, snapping a picture of the "Exit" sign on his phone as he disappeared through the double doors.

Brunson Busts

Level 10 : 800/1,500, 0 ante

Three people saw a flop of {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} including Todd Brunson, Erick Lindgren and Dan Kelly. The three got in enough bets to put Brunson all in, and the turn brought the {q-Clubs}. Lindgren checked, Kelly bet into a dry pot, and Lindgren called.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Lindgren decided to lead out this time. Kelly folded, and Lindgren opened {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} for two-pair; kings and fives. Brunson showed {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}, mucked his hand, and headed for the exit.
