Todd Barlow Eliminated in 10th Place ($33,172)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Todd Barlow - 10th Place
Todd Barlow - 10th Place

The action folded to Todd Barlow who raised on the button, and Richard Ashby made it two bets from the small blind. Barlow moved all in for a total of 75,000, and Ashby quickly called.

Barlow: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Ashby: {9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop gave Ashby a gut-shot straight draw, and despite the fact that Barlow held one of the for queens, the {q-Hearts} slammed on the turn. The {3-Hearts} on the river was irrelevant, and Barlow was eliminated from the tournament.

Thuritz Takes One

Richard Ashby, Mikael Thuritz and Todd Barlow all saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The action checked to Ashby who bet, and Thuritz check-raised to two bets. Barlow cold-called, Ashby tossed in the extra bet, and the turn was the {10-Clubs}. Thuritz led out, and only Ashby called.

The river was the {5-Hearts}, and Thuritz led again. Ashby surrendered, releasing his hand, and the pot was shipped to Thuritz.

The Rush is Over for Arieh

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

George Lind raised from the cutoff, and Josh Arieh defended his big blind. Arieh check-called a bet on the {7-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} flop, and it checked through the {3-Hearts} turn and {K-Spades} river.

Lind's {A-Hearts} {7-Spades} {2-Clubs} {3-Clubs} was the scooper, and he's up to 670,000. Arieh is still well up from his dinner-break count, but he's fallen back a step to about 800,000.

Aces Vs. Aces

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Riding the rush, Josh Arieh opened with a raise. Viacheslav Zhukov three-bet, Todd Barlow four-bet, Arieh folded, Zhukov capped it at five bets, and Barlow called all in for 130,000 total.

Showdown
Zhukov: {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {10-Hearts}
Barlow: {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {3-Spades} {J-Hearts}

Aces vs. aces, and the pot would be a chop. The board came {K-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {4-Spades}, and the aces held up.

Holy Heaters, Batman

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Josh Arieh raised from the hijack seat, and Guillaume Rivet three-bet from the button. Arieh called, and he check-raised the {3-Hearts} {3-Spades} {2-Clubs} flop. He and Rivet put in two small bets apiece, and Arieh led the betting after the {K-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Hearts} river. Rivet called the turn bet, but he surrendered after the river, and Arieh dragged the pot.

He's won two or three pots in the last few hands now, and he's feeling it. "Holy heaters, Batman!" he piped up. Yep, he said that. He's suddenly one of the big stacks, sitting pretty with 950,000.

Barlow Scoops a Double

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

From middle position, Todd Barlow opened with a raise, and Steve Billirakis three-bet from the small blind. Barlow called, getting short on chips now.

The flop came {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}, and Billirakis bet. Barlow raised all in for another 5,000 on top, and Billirakis called with {A-Spades} {J-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts}. Barlow's {A-Hearts} {3-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {J-Spades} had flopped trips, and the turn {Q-Clubs} and river {9-Spades} secured his double. He's back to 190,000 and back in the game.

It Keeps Getting Better for Billirakis

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Steve Billirakis
Steve Billirakis

Steve Billirakis limped in from early position, and he was followed into the pot by Mack Lee. Richard Ashby was in the big blind, and he took a free flop that came {J-Hearts} {9-Spades} {10-Hearts}. Ashby led out with a bet, Billirakis called, and Lee ducked out of the way.

Heads-up now, Ashby check-called a bet on the {2-Clubs} turn and another one after the {K-Clubs} river.

Billirakis turned over {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades}, and Ashby didn't like it. He triple-checked his cards, then showed {Q-Spades} {8-Hearts}... and then {J-Spades} {8-Diamonds} with a frustrated open-muck. He had flopped the joint, but Billirakis rivered Broadway to scoop the pot.

"Nut flush draw, too?" Ashby asked after a moment. Billirakis nodded, and Ashby acknowledged the better hand. Billirakis' hand improved all the way through, and he's up to 735,000 with that pot while Ashby falls back to about 775,000.
