Klodnicki Scores a KO

Level 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Chris Klodnicki is now up to 6,500 after taking out an opponent as we approach the break.

The action folded around the small blind who moved all in for his last 1,050, only to be snapped off by Klodnicki who tabled {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Neither hand improved on the board of {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} and the line outside moves up by one.

First Break In The Action

Level 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

The field has completed two levels so far and has been sent on the first 20-minute break of the day. The first break usually runs a bit longer due to the bracelet ceremonies.

Jacks Win for King

We were able to get to Carter King's table just in time to see him add to his stack.

After being reraised preflop Carter King put his opponent all in with {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. They were off to the races as Cody Slaughbaugh flipped over {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

After a board of {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} King's pair of jacks was enough to send Slaughbaugh on his way.

Pros Sharing Tables

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

In such a massive field, currently at 3,061, its a rarity to see two or more pros at one table. Scott Montgomery and Matt Affleck are sharing a table with Boston Celtic Paul Pierce. Table 139 in the Yellow section of the Pavilion has November Nine Joseph Cheong, Sam Stein and Bryan Devonshire - who happens to sporting a large cowboy hat.

Phan is Here to Gamble

We found Young Phan raising preflop in the cutoff. He was able to convince two others to come with him for a flop.

After seeing {7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} roll off the deck, it was Phan again who fired. He was quickly raised by the button, and after a few back and forth bets, Phan stated "I'm here to gamble," and both players got all in.

Phan held {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for an open ended straight and royal flush draw and his opponent held {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a set of sevens.

The turn was a pretty big blow to Phan as his opponent boated up with the {K-Spades}. The river {3-Spades} sealed the deal, as Phan missed his two outer.

Nguyen's Down, but Lichtenberger's Out

We found Men "The Master" Nguyen over in the White section and also managed to catch some action.

Nguyen raised to 300 from under the gun preflop and the action folded around to the player in the hijack who called, along with the cutoff and big blind to make it four-handed to a rather scary looking flop of {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{J-Spades}.

No surprises then that after it checked around to the cutoff, they all folded after he raised all in.

And while we were unable to get the action, we just saw Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger tip his massage therapist before heading out the door.
