Scott Seiver completed and last night's $10,000 2-7 lowball Champion John Juanda raised. Seiver made the call and called Juanda’s bet on fourth. On fifth however, Seiver raised Juanda’s bet which Juanda just called. When Seiver paired up on sixth, he bet but Juanda raised. Seiver called and both players checked seventh. Seiver showed trips and Juanda mucked his hand.
Ivan Freitez and another player were both just eliminated by a third player. The Venezuelan, who won the EPT Grand Final a few weeks ago, was all in and managed to make a wheel while the other short stack made two pair only for the player who had them both covered to river a king-high straight to scoop.
We caught up with the action on seventh street between recent bracelet winner Allen Bari and the defending champ in this event Men Nguyen where Bari bet and Nguyen called. Bari showed two pair which was good as Nguyen called.
Phil Laak raised after his opponent completed and the player made the call. On fourth and fifth, Laak bet and his opponent made the call. Both players checked sixth and Laak’s bet on seventh was called. Laak showed two pair, aces up, which was good as his opponent mucked.
Erik Cajelais completed and Ville Wahlbeck made the call. On the next three streets Cajelais bet and Wahlbeck called each time. Finally on seventh, Cajelais check-called Wahlbeck’s bet and Wahlbeck showed two pair which was good as Cajelais mucked.
We caught up with the action on fourth street where John Juanda bet and both Richard Ashby and Jennifer Harman called. On fifth, Ashby had the highest pair showing and bet. Harman raised, Juanda tank folded and Ashby surprisingly folded as well.
Joining the action on fifth saw Jennifer Harman bet her open eights with Stuart Rutter calling and Greg Raymer also making the call. Harman, picking up the ace on sixth, got cautious and chose to check, Rutter now bet and Raymer called and Harman decided to fold. Raymer checked the river and Rutter chose to open his hand showing for trip threes. Raymer nodded and mucked
