Justin Smith brought in and Ted Forrest and Alexander Kostritsyn both called. On fourth, Smith and Kostritsyn both checked to Forrest who bet. Kostritsyn got out of the way but Smith called and bet after Forrest checked on fifth. Forrest made the call and check-called Smith’s bet on sixth. Both players checked seventh and Smith showed a pair of Jacks in the hole which were good for the pot.
Jeff Lisandro completed and Frank Kassela raised. Lisandro re-raised and Kassela made the call. On fourth and fifth street Lisandro bet and Kassela called. On sixth Lisandro check-called Kassela’s bet but check-folded on seventh as Kassela took down the pot.
Pat Pezzin completed and called Bill ‘Bumpereno’ Munley’s raise afterwards. On both fourth and fifth, Pezzin bet only to get raised by Munley which he called. On sixth and seventh, Pezzin check-called Munley’s bets. Munley turned over trips and won the pot as Pezzin mucked.
Picking up the action on fifth, Violette fired out and Chen made the call, the same pattern being repeated on sixth and seventh and Violette immediately flipped her full house to scoop another pot. Not the best of starts for Bill Chen so far.
Joining the action on sixth street, Bill Chen fired out a bet of 400 and Tom Dwan made the call. Chen then checked on seventh and called a bet from Dwan - the latter turning over a straight to pick up the pot.
Justin Smith completed and Alexander Kostritsyn raised. Smith made the call and check-called Kostritsyn’s bet on fourth street. On fifth street, Smith check-raised Kostritsyn who called. Kostritsyn paired up on sixth street and was now first to act and bet. Smith called but folded to Kostritsyn’s bet on seventh as Kostritsyn took down the early pot.
Jerry Buss completed the opening with the ace before his opponent raised. Buss made the call and then fired out on fourth and fifth street before sixth went check-check.
On seventh, the dealer accidentally exposed Buss' face up meaning that the floor ruled that the other player's card had to be dealt face up as. The action then proceeded and both players checked, Buss flipped his threes in the hole and took down the pot with kings up.
