In a three way pot on fifth street, Nick Schulman had bet with a board showing and James Seely raised with only about 2,500 behind. Men Nguyen tanked and ended up folding and Schulman set his opponent all in and got an automatic call. Seely showed buried kings to go with his board but Schulman had paired his ace with in the hole. Schulman made aces and jacks by seventh while Seely could only make kings up and was knocked out.
Matt Hawrilenko completed, Alexander Kostritsyn raised and Hawrilenko made the call. Kostritsyn bet on fourth and Hawrilenko called. On fifth, Hawrilenko paired up and bet and Kostritsyn called with the action the same on sixth. On seventh Hawrilenko checked and made the call when Kostritsyn bet. For his call, Hawrilenko was showed the of Kostritsyn for kings up which was good.
Just before the break, John Hennigan won a huge pot against Men Nguyen. According to Chris Amaral it went to a five-bet cap on fifth street before Nguyen bet sixth and then seventh in the dark. Hennigan raised on seventh and Nguyen made the call. Hennigan showed having been rolled up, hit a flush draw and then boated up on the end. Nguyen flashed for trip tens and a four-flush that missed.
We caught up with the action on fifth where Nick Schulman bet and John Hennigan called. The action was the same on sixth and both players checked seventh. Schulman was clearly looking for the check-raise as he turned over for quads and Hennigan mucked. That’s the second time we’ve seen Schulman with quads and we’re not sure if we’ve missed any other times that he’s had them but if not, then we might just be Schulman’s good luck charm.
Christopher George completed and then called Chad Brown’s raise. George check-called Brown’s bet on fourth and on all remaining streets, Brown bet and George called. Brown turned over for two pair and George flashed , clearly curious as to whether Brown had hit two pair which he indeed did to win the pot. The hand knocked George out of first place in chips.
