A Couple More Tan Notables

We've spotted a couple more players who have taken their seats in the tan section including Jason Alexander who is best known for his role as "George" on the TV show "Seinfeld." We'll try to refrain from making any "no chips for you!" jokes throughout the day, but we aren't making any promises.

Who's at the Featured Table?

The featured table inside the "mothership" of the Amazon room is where the legendary Doyle Brunson is seated. We already mentioned that Brunson offered the official "Shuffle Up and Deal" to start the tournament, but he is also playing in today's field. We'll certainly be keeping an eye on him throughout the day.

Joining the featured table a little late was Mickey Appleman who also has had a lot of prior success in the WSOP.

Yang Starts With a Small Bang

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 250 and found one caller in Jerry Yang from the big blind.

The flop brought {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Yang's opponent c-bet for 600. Yang made the call. Both players checked the {2-Hearts} turn. However, when the {A-Diamonds} completed the board, Yang cut out a bet to 1,400 and chucked it into the middle. Yang's opponent let out a small grimace and mucked his hand.

1976 and 1977 WSOP Main Event Champion Doyle Brunson says "Shuffle up and deal!"

"I'd just like to say good luck to all the players, and let's shuffle up and deal!"

So said Doyle Brunson just a moment ago, delivering the traditional directive to dealers before taking his seat at the feature table for the start of today's Day 1a. Cards are in the air!
