Calling the Clock

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Robert Varkonyi opened from under the gun, and the action folded to Marvin Rettenmaier who three-bet to 15,600 on the button. Varkonyi four-bet to 45,000, and Rettenmaier went into the tank.

"Do you know how much you started the hand with?" Rettenmaier asked him.

"I have about one-fifteen, one-twenty behind," Varkonyi responded.

Rettemaier then moved all in, sending Varkonyi into the tank.

"What do you think?" Varkonyi asked him. "Another big pot?"

Rettenmaier sat silently, and eventually the clock was called on Varkonyi. As the clock ticked down, the 2002 Main Event Champion mucked {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} face-up. Rettenmaier showed {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}, and raked in the pot.
