Negreanu Felts Opponent

Level 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

An unknown player opened to 150, Daniel Negreanu called from the cutoff and the small blind potted to 700. The original raiser folded and Negreanu called.

The flop came {8-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {9-Spades}, the small bind moved all in and Negreanu called.

Negreanu: {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

The board finished {J-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} and Negreanu's two pair felted his opponent.

Schwartz Sent Home

We walked by Noah Schwartz's table earlier, and noticed that he had cashed in both of his lammers, and was sitting on a short stack. The next time we got around to his table, we saw that he had committed most of his chips in a three way pot on a flop that read {q-Spades}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Schwartz had bet out 1,000, and his first opponent raised to 4,000. His other opponent went all in, and Schwartz unhappily committed the rest of his chips.

Schwartz: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Opponent 1: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Opponent 2: {j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Schwartz actually had the best hand with top two pair, but would have to dodge a world of outs to hold. The {9-Spades} on the turn completed everyone's draw, and Schwartz would need an ace or a queen to fill up and take the pot. The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Schwartz hit the rail before the first break.

Pilgrim Busted

An unknown player opened to 200 and Dwyte Pilgrim raised to 500 from the small blind. The big blind folded and the original raiser called.

The flop came {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}, Pilgrim led out with 950 and his opponent raised enough to put Pilgrim all in. Pilgrim called and tabled {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {4-Clubs}, his opponent held {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {5-Spades}.

The board completed {A-Clubs} {7-Spades} and Pilgrim was sent to the rail.

Tough Late Entrant Table

As is usually the case in these types of events, the late registrant table is packed with big names who weren't able to get here on time for the event. Today is no different, as we just saw that a new table has formed with some talented players.

Seat 3: Scotty Nguyen
Seat 5: Keven Stammen
Seat 7: Barry Greenstein
Seat 8: Matt Keikoan
Seat 9: Ayaz Mahmood

All five of these players are bracelet winners.

Ivey Outta Here

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

We made our rounds through the Red section, and we noticed that one Phil Ivey was no longer in his seat. We asked his former table mate Eric Buchman what happened, and while he was alittle fuzzy on the details, here is what he remembered. The board read {6-}{2-}{8-}{8-}{5-}. Ivey held {8-}{k-}{k-}{q-} for trip eights, but his opponent had {6-}{7-}{9-}{9-} for a straight. Ivey is one of the earliest causalities of the touranment.

"Burger & Fries"

Level 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

We found Dwyte Pilgrim getting his stack in after a flop of {K-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {A-Hearts} flop. His opponent called and the hands were tabled.

"Got the nuts?" Pilgrim asked.

"I got the burger and fries," his opponent responded.

Pilgrim: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {3-Hearts}
Opponent: {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}

The board completed {9-Hearts} {A-Spades} and Pilgrim's opponent made a queen-high flush. Pilgrim was amused that his opponent called his hand "the burger and fries." He then cashed in one of his rebuy chips.
