Hoyt Corkins - the legend - doubles up

Antonio Esfandiari raised to 10,500 in mid-position, Mohsin Charania made the call on the button and Hoyt Corkins moved all-in from the small blind for around 46,000. Esfandiari folded and Charania made the call to take us to a heads-up showdown.

Corkins{A-Diamonds} {9-Spades}
Charania{6-Diamonds} {6-Spades}

Board: {5-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {8-Spades}

The nine on the flop good enough for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) veteran and he remains in this competition with 27 players left.

Kenney Binks a Double

Bryn Kenney needed a double in a bad way, and he just got one at the expense of Manuel Bevand. Kenney got his last ~60,000 in with {A-Spades} {K-Spades}, and he was flipping against the Frenchman's {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}.

The flop came {8-Spades} {8-Clubs} {K-Clubs}, and Bevand could not catch back up. Nary a jack was found on the turn or river, and Kenney has worked himself back into contention with about 125,000.

Charania Chews a Chunk Off Esfandiari

Mohsin Charania has plans to get to the Electric Daisy Carnival if he busts soon, but he might just have to skip the dancing and concentrate on his poker instead.

He raised in first position making it 10,500 to play before Antonio Esfandiari three-bet from the cutoff. Back to Charania and he moved all-in for 80,500 and Esfandiari made the call.

Charania{A-Spades} {Q-Hearts}
Esfandiari{A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}

"Good luck," said Charania as the dealer prepared to lay the flop on the felt.

Flop: {7-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {J-Hearts}

"I didn't mean it," said Charania as Esfandiari took an unlikely lead.

Turn: {10-Diamonds}

Charania turned a straight draw to add to his queen outs.

River: {K-Diamonds}

Charania hit the straight and moved up to 168,500, Esfandiari was down to 430,000

Triple Up For Katz

Cary Katz back in contention
Cary Katz back in contention

Cary Katz has just tripled up through the British pairing of Chris Moorman and Liv Boeree and this is how it happened.

Katz raised to 12,000 in early position and the action folded around to Boeree who was just about to eat her lunch. She stopped opening her food to allow herself to three-bet to 31,000. One fold later and Chris Moorman decided to four-bet 'pot' and the amount was 112,000. Katz and Boeree flew into the pot quicker than a rat up a drainpipe and we had a three-way all-in with Katz and Boeree at risk of elimination.

"I think you both have the same hand," said Katz and do you know what…he was right.

Moorman{A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}
Boeree{A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

Board: {7-Clubs} {9-Spades} {4-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {4-Hearts}

Moorman's terrible luck continued and he has 158,000 chips, Boeree is perilous on 41,500 and Katz is now up to 124,500.

Vinas Vanquished

First in from the cutoff, Mike McDonald raised to 10,000. Andy Frankenberger flatted next door, and Tommy Vinas three-bet shoved for 31,000 total in the big blind. McDonald called, Frankenberger folded, and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
McDonald: {A-Hearts} {7-Hearts}
Vinas: {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades}

There was no help for the at-risk player on board. The dealer ran out {2-Hearts} {5d] {8-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds}, and that's the end of the line for Vinas. Adding those chips to his own, McDonald is up over 300,000 and above average for the final 27 players.

Aces For Jeff Tims

Jeff Tims is a very proud new father and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the first time he has been apart from his child. He is finding the separation difficult but seems to be pretty focused today. Here is he moving close to the 300,000 chip mark.

Tims raised to 11,100 on the button and Andy Frankenberger made the call from the big blind. The flop was {Q-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {8-Spades} and both players checked. The turn card was the {6-Hearts} and Frankenberger very quickly check-called a 15,500 Tims bet. The action came to a close with the appearance of the {8-Clubs}. Frankenberger checking, Tims betting 34,500 and Frankenberger verbally calling in a heartbeat.

Tims turned over {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} and Frankenberger mucked his hand.

Ali Eslami limped into the pot from first position and Daniel Weinman made the isolation raise to 11,500 in the hijack seat. One fold later and Chris Moorman started to show an interest in the pot from the button. He made a cold four-bet of 20,500, Eslami folded, Weinman moved all-in and Moorman called.

Weinman{A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}
Moorman{K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
