Kim's Flush Is Second Best

Ari Engel and another player checked the {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop and John Kim. Kim bet 850 and both players called. The turn was then checked by all three players after the {7-Spades} hit the board. On the river, the {6-Diamonds} fell and action checked to Kim again. He bet 1,300, Kim folded, but the other player called.

Kim showed the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a queen-high flush. His opponent had him beat with the {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a king-high flush and won the pot.

Maimone Bests Stein

On the paired {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Nick Maimone check-called a bet of 350 from Sam Stein before the {7-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Both players checked and then checked the {10-Clubs} river. Maimone abled the {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for fours and deuces to win the pot. Stein mucked.

Getting to Know Brendon Rubie

On the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} board, an opponent fired 1,600 into Brendon Rubie. Rubie put in a raise to 4,100 and his opponent tank-called with the {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Rubie had the player pipped with the {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and won the pot.

Last year we highlighted Rubie in our 2011 WSOP Rookie Roundup series and you can find out more about him by reading that article.

Rubie also joined us at PokerNews for a Seat Open with him. You can check out those videos below.
