Final Break

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

The remaining 20 players have been sent on their final 20-minute break of the night. When we get back, there will just be one more level of play and we expect the money bubble to burst. See you back here soon.

Chan Busts Burr

Melissa Burr was all in with her short stack holding {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Terrence Chan, though, held {A-Spades}{10-Spades}. Chan isolated the pot against a third player after the turn of a {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} board and scored the elimination when the {8-Diamonds} landed on the river.

Indygone

Some fast and furious action has seen Chalres Indyg hit the rail, while Benjamin Scholl has taken a triple-up.

When we arrived at the table, Scholl, Indyg and Roman Draheim were each firing in plenty of bets and raises before the dealer spread out a {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. At this point Scholl was already all-in, while Indyg only had a couple of big bets left. By the time the betting on the flop was over, Indyg was also all-in and the three players would be turning their hands over.

Scholl: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Indyg: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Draheim: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The turn fell with a {j-Spades} and the river a {7-Clubs} as Scholl's flopped set would see him take down the main pot to triple-up. Droheim had Indyg outkicked and would take down the side pot to send Indyg out of the tournament.

Glantz Gets the Double

Kenneth Shei was in middle position when he opened up the pot. Glantz made it three bets from teh hijack and Shei called as a {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop was dealt. With a bunch of bets and raises, Glantz put the remainder of his short stack in the middle and two players turned their hands over.

Glantz: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Shei: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

The turn ({9-Hearts}) and the river ({j-Diamonds}) gave Glantz a straight and sent him the double-up, while Shei took a small hit to his stack.

Duke Dusted Before Money

Annie Duke, eliminated
Annie Duke, eliminated

Annie Duke has just bit the dust a few places before the money bubble and we were there to see it all go down. Duke actually ended up getting her stack in preflop as she and Raymond Dehkharghani had a raise war. By the time all the chip were in, Dehkharghani capped the betting and Duke called all-in.

Dehkharghani: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Duke: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, with no help for Duke as she exits the tournament.

Glantz Gutted; Shulman Shimmering

Jeff Shulman's stack has increased substantially since our redraw, while it is the opposite case for Matt Glantz. A recent hand saw Shulman open it up from middle position and Glantz re-raise from the small blind. Shulman called and a {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop was dealt. Glantz bet and Shulman called as a {2-Spades} hit the turn. Another bet from Glantz and another call from Shulman and the {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

This time both players opted to check and Glantz tabled {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, not strong enough for Shulman's {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}.
