The players have just entered the final break of the day. We will play two more levels after this break and probably end up just short of the money tonight.
With only $4,591 live tournament earnings on his resume, the name of Hendrik Latz will not be a familiar one to you, but with 120,000 chips we had better start getting used to typing it. We just saw him drag in a 30,000 pot when his
proved to be too hot for the
of his opponent. All of the money went in pre flop in a four-bet exchange between Latz and his opponent and the board ran out
.
Another player with towers of chips is Jordan Young. With 119,500 chips Young is a force to be reckoned with and is currently occupying table space with Dave "Doc" Sands. We just asked Sands if Young was any good.
"He is certainly better at this than he is at nine-handed play," said the Doc.
Two other American players flying high in this competition are AE Jones (125,000) and Steve Gross (100,000) with Jones crushing his table in every hand.

"Don't you know women always say no the first time," Will Failla just shouted to a player a couple tables over. His girlfriend was standing at the rail for quite some time now, and by the looks of it she had declined to take a seat on a nearby empty chair. Failla couldn't stand it anymore and brought her a chair on which she took a seat.
As the players were laughing at Failla's comment Matt Stout replied with, "Are you trying to teach him how to be a gentleman?".
"No means no, Will!" someone else added getting everyone to laugh.
We are near the end of the eight level of play and even though things are getting pretty serious there is still plenty of banter left. Currently there are 222 players remaining and the average stack is 37,459.
Nacho Barbero has just doubled up. He was holding
on a
board and now has 44,000.
We have another centurion in the room with 127,000 chips. His name is Christopher Polzin who told us he amassed his stack by getting great hands and betting strong draws.
Ogjnen Sekularac has just ended up splitting a pot he must have been sure he was winning. There was a raise from first position and Sekularac called on the button. The flop was
, the initial raiser bet 1,100, Sekularac raised to 3,300 and the initial raiser called. Before the dealer could show the table the turn, the initial raiser checked in the dark. The turn card was the
and Sekularac also checked. Finally we saw the
and the initial raiser bet 5,400. All eyes on Sekularac and he made it 8,025 more. The initial raiser tanked for a good few minutes before making the call and showed down the exact same hand as Sekularac -
.

Mickey Petersen started off the action with a raise to 800 after which Athanasios Polychronopoulos three-bet him to 2,500. The player in the big blind opted to make it 6,200 and Petersen laid it down.
Polychronopoulos, who finished fourth in the Master Classics of Poker Main Event in Amsterdam last November, moved all in and after some tanking his opponent called.
