Shak Folds To Oppenheim

Pot-Limit Omaha

Picking up the action on the {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Phil Hellmuth checked and David Oppenheim bet 40,000. Dan Shak raised to 165,000 and Hellmuth folded. Oppenheim reraised the pot to 650,000 and that sent Shak into the tank. He kept checking back at his cards over and over while tanking and even said, "I'm in bad shape; runner-runner bad shape." Eventually, he folded and Oppenheim won the pot.

Updated Chip Counts from Table 446

Seed Eliminated

Razz

Brett Richey showed us earlier that getting very low on chips doesn't mean you should give up. Huck Seed was about to prove the same thing, as he folded himself all the way down to 2,500 chips. Seed started a comeback, but fell short a couple of hands later.

Huck Seed{Q-}{10-} / {9-}{K-}{J-}{2-} / {6-}
David Baker{q-}{10-} / {4-}{7-}{7-}{K-} / {9-}
John Monnette{x-}{x-} / {J-}{8-} - Fold

John Monnette had the bring in and David Baker completed. Seed called all in and Monnette called as well. On fourth street Baker bet, and Monnette folded. The boards ran out giving Seed the best hand with a queen-ten-nine-six-deuce and stayed in the game.

Limit Hold'em

From the hijack Joe Cassidy raised and Huck Seed called all in from the big blind.

Huck Seed{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Joe Cassidy{A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and with that Seed is no longer in this event

One For Schwartz in Razz

Razz

Luke Schwartz{x-}{x-} / {A-}{10-}{9-}{7-} / {x-}
Lyle Berman{x-}{x-} / {A-}{K-}{10-}{5-} / {x-}

On fourth, fifth and sixth Schwartz bet, and Berman called on every street. On seventh street the hand got checked down, and Schwartz showed {8-}{4-}{6-}. He won the pot, but is still down since the last break.

Baker Busts Smith

Razz

Justin Smith{9-}{6-} / {2-}{Q-}{6-}
David Baker{5-}{4-} / {7-}{J-}{K-}

Justin Smith completed third street and then called David Baker's raise. Baker took the on-board lead on fourth street and bet. Smith called and took the on-board back on fifth street. He bet, leaving himself with less than one big bet behind. Baker raised and Smith called all in.

Smith had paired up on fifth street, meaning Baker not only had the better hand at the moment with a king low but a better draw, too.

Baker caught a {3-} on sixth to make a jack-seven low, while Smith caught a {J-} and was drawing dead. Seventh street was obsolete for both players and Smith was eliminated.

A Better Ten For Mizrachi

Razz

Michael Mizrachi{x-}{x-} / {4-}{7-}{3-}{3-} / {x-}
Viktor Blom{x-}{x-} / {5-}{9-}{A-}{2-} / {x-}

Michael Mizrachi completed it on third street and Viktor Blom called. On fourth and fifth Blom called bets, after which Mizrachi paired up on sixth. Blom bet, but he couldn't get Mizrachi to fold.

On seventh street the hand got checked down, and Blom showed {K-}{10-}{2-} for a ten-nine while Mizrachi tabled {J-}{10-}{5-}. The 2010 Players Championship winner had made a ten-seven and took down this pot.

Mizrachi Wins a Much Needed One

Limit Hold'em

Robert Mizrachi raised from the button, and he got three-bet by Andy Bloch who was in the small blind. Mizrachi called.

The flop came down {3-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Hearts}, and Bloch bet, Mizrachi called. On the turn the {6-Diamonds} showed up and Bloch bet again, Mizrachi called. On the river, the {5-Hearts}, Bloch slowed down and check-called a bet from Mizrachi.

Mizrachi showed {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and his straight took down the pot.

Baker Takes Three Quarters

David Baker
David Baker

Omaha-8

Justin Smith raised under the gun, and David Baker three-bet under the gun+1. The other players folded and Smith called, giving us heads up action on the flop.

The flop came down {7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, and Smith check-called. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and once again Smith check-called. The river was the {4-Diamonds}, and the same process was repeated.

Baker showed {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and took the high pot with a pair of aces. Smith showed {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and had the nut low, but Baker had that combination as well. Smith took just a quarter of the pot while Baker chipped up nicely.

Seventy-Six Does it For Klodnicki

Razz

Chris Klodnicki{x-}{x-} / {8-}{2-}{7-}{3-} / {x-}
Stephen Chidwick{x-}{x-} / {6-}{7-}{J-}{K-} / {x-}
Roland Israelashvili{x-}{x-} / {8-}{2-}{Q-}{9-} / {x-}

Chris Klodnicki had the bring in and Stephen Chidwick completed it. Roland Israelashvili made the call, as did Klodnicki giving us three-way action. Chidwick bet third street and both his opponents called.

On fourth street Klodnicki bet and both Klodnicki and Israelashvili made the call. Fith street didn't change the betting lead, and Klodnicki fired at it again. He got two callers once more, and on seventh it was checked down.

Klodnicki turned over {7-}{6-}{4-} for a seven-six low and both his opponents mucked.

Mizrachi Beats Baker

Stud

Michael Mizrachi{A-Spades}{A-Hearts} / {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
David Baker{x-}{x-} / {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades} - Fold

The {2-Clubs} had the bring in, and David Baker completed it. Michael Mizrachi was the only caller, and he called another bet on fourth street. On fifth street Baker checked to the 2010 Players Championship winner, and he threw out a bet. Baker called, but on sixth street he decided to give it up.

"I don't think you had it," Mizrachi said as he turned over his hole cards. Mizrachi is increasing his chip lead, while Baker will be looking to double up soon.
