Orange Counts Part Deux

Cazals Flops the Joint, Doubles

Aubin Cazals and an opponent were heads up with the board reading {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Cazals bet, his opponent raised, and Cazals made it three bets. His opponent called.

The turn was the {2-Clubs}, and Cazals led out. His opponent called.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Cazals moved all in for 150, which is less than a big bet. His opponent called, and Cazals tabled {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a flopped straight. His opponent showed two kings, then mucked.

Defending the Title

Tyler Bonkowski, the player who won this event last year, has recently found his seat in the Orange Section of the Amazon Room. He just won a nice-sized pot where the action was capped four ways preflop, and the board read {9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. The action checked to him, he bet, and three opponents called, including Ali Eslami.

The {4-Diamonds} turned, and the action checked to Bonkowski again. He bet, and everyone called except for Eslami, who raised. All three players called.

The {9-Spades} completed the board, and all four players checked. A player in the blinds turned over an under pair, and everyone mucked except for Bonkowski, who tabled two red tens.

He raked in the pot, and is off to a hot start.

Just Quad Aces

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Aubin Cazals can't beat quads.
Aubin Cazals can't beat quads.

Jeffery Einsidler and 2012 WSOP bracelet winner Aubin Cazals took a flop of {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. Both players checked. Einsidler checked again when the {3-Diamonds} turned, Cazals checked behind, and the {7-Clubs} completed the board. Einsidler checked a third time, and Cazals bet. Einsidler check-raised, and Cazals quickly mucked.

Einsidler peeled his cards just enough so that Cazals could see, and when the dealer mucked his hand, she did so face up to show the other seven players.

It was {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, for quads.

Shulman Has Heart

Jeff Shulman and an opponent were heads up with the board reading {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Shulman's opponent check-called a bet, and the turn was the {2-Hearts}. Shulman's opponent check-raised him, and Shulman put in a third bet. The player called.

The river was the {j-Diamonds}, and the player check-called one more bet. Shulman tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a queen-high flush, and won the pot.
