Moed Ousts Armstrong; 36 Left

Angela Moed opened with a raise to 5,200 from under the gun and it folded around to Shannon Armstrong in the big blind who called, leaving herself 21,800 behind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}, and Armstrong led with a bet of 7,500. Moed raised to 17,000, Armstrong reraised all in, and Moed called.

Moed turned over {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. "Ahh," said Armstrong. "I just have tens." She tabled her {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and after the {6-Spades} turn and {5-Clubs} river, Armstrong was out in 37th.

Just four tables left!

Quads for Dang Spells Doom for de la Cerra

Jana de la Cerra
Jana de la Cerra

We just saw a big hand develop between a couple of the big stacks, Yen Dang and Jana de la Cerra, with the result being one elimination and a new chip leader.

After a button raise from de la Cerra and a call from the big blind by Dang, the flop came {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades} and both checked. The turn was the {5-Hearts}. De la Cerra bet 12,000, and Dang called.

The river brought the {2-Clubs} and a bet of 21,500 from de la Cerra. Dang minimum-raised to 43,000, then de la Cerra made it 81,000. Dang responded with an all-in shove, and de la Cerra called with her remaining chips.

de la Cerra: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Dang: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The toughest of flops for de la Cerra, who goes out in 34th, and the most perfect for Dang, who now sits with just over a quarter million.

Paulson Knocks Out Jones

We just had an all-in and a call happen between a couple of the shorter stacks, Marcia Paulson and Della Jones, following a {4-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-} flop. Jones was the one at risk with {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} while Paulson had two pair with {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and when the turn and river bricked for Jones, she went out in 33rd.

Double KO for Lundholm

Anna Lundholm
Anna Lundholm

Two more eliminations to report, both coming on the same hand.

Things began with Ayesha Carmody open-raising all in for 18,500 from under the gun, then Anna Lundholm called from the hijack seat. It folded to Debra O'Neill who reraise-shoved herself for a bit more than Carmody, and when it folded to Lundholm she called that raise as well. The cards were turned on their backs…

O'Neill: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Carmody: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Lundholm: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

Lundholm had the preflop edge, and that edge became a lot greater following the {9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop. The turn was the {4-Spades} and river the {3-Clubs}, and Lundholm claimed the pot and a couple of knockouts. O'Neill finishes a notch higher than Carmody thanks to starting the hand with more chips.

Three More Fall, Ross-Powers Rises

The bustouts keep coming… and quick. A short-stacked Judy Smith just went out in 30th, followed by Marcia Paulson who was eliminated in 29th after a hand versus Jamie Kerstetter.

Then came a three-way hand between Myra Thompson (small blind), Candida Ross-Powers (big blind), and Erica Schoenberg (cutoff). The trio together had together made it to the turn with the board showing {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{Q-Spades}, and when it checked to Schoenberg she bet and both of her opponents called.

The river then brought the {A-Spades}, pairing the board and bringing a third spade, and it checked again to Schoenberg. This time she shoved the rest of her chips — 33,000 total — and both of her opponents called once more.

Ross-Powers then tabled {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for trip aces, and both Thompson and Schoenberg mucked, the latter going out in 28th. Like the previous eight players eliminated, Schoenberg takes away $4,305.

Jancevic, Metlach Fall; 25 Remain

Natalia Metlach
Natalia Metlach

Two more eliminations took place just before we reached the dinner break, Oksana Jancevic in 27th and Natalia Metlach in 26th. Both earn $5,155 for their finishes.

In Metlach's last hand, she committed her short stack with {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and was up against the {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} of Lisa Santy. The flop came {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, pairing Metlach but giving Santy both straight and flush draws. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn filled the straight draw, then the {9-Hearts} completed the flush.
