Perkins with a Cheat Sheet

Level 10 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Bill Perkins and Mikhail Smirnov checked the {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop before the dealer placed the {4-Spades} out on the turn. Perkins checked and Smirnov bet 450,000.

"Oh, the old Perky would just ship it," said Perkins. "Ship, ship, ship and ship it twice!" He then folded and Smirnov won the pot.

"Ace-queen was the nuts, by the way," chimed in Antonio Esfandiari.

"That much I knew," said Perkins.

Perkins then pulled out his cheat sheet and showed it to the cameras. He keeps the long list folded up in his pocket with tips and points on the day.

Jason Mercier: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Noah Schwartz: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, and Schwartz got knocked out.

Galfond Gone

Antonio Esfandiari raised to 115,000 from under the gun and the only player who made the call was Phil Galfond acting from the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} and and Galfond checked. Esfandiari bet 150,000 and Galfond check-raised to 330,000. Esfandiari raised to put Galfond all in and Galfond called for about 1.1 million total.

Galfond showed the {A-Spades}{7-Spades} and Esfandiari the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. Galfond's pair and flush draw was up against Esfandiari's top pair.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and river the {J-Diamonds}, keeping Esfandiari in front and knocking out Galfond.

Smirnov Takes Care of Business; Dwan and Negreanu Out

The elimination of Tom Dwan and Daniel Negreanu
The elimination of Tom Dwan and Daniel Negreanu

We just saw a massive clash on Table 446 in which both Tom Dwan and Daniel Negreanu got eliminated. Russian high roller Mikhail Smirnov busted the two top professionals when his top set held up.

The action started off with Phil Galfond raising under the gun, and Dwan made the call in the hijack. Negreanu was in the cutoff, and he moved all in for his final 355,000 chips. Smirnov was on the button and he put in a four-bet to 700,000, and that got Galfond to fold.

Dwan decided to move all in, putting in a five-bet, and Smirnov made the call putting two of the biggest names in this field at risk.

Tom Dwan{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Daniel Negreanu{A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Mikhail Smirnov{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Dwan was in perfect shape to more than double up, but the flop spelled disaster when it rolled out {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Smirnov had flopped a set and took a commanding lead. The turn was the {8-Hearts}, and this opened up a large amount of outs for Negreanu to stay alive.

"Wow! Do I have outs!" Negreanu shouted, and he added "If I was ever going to use my one time, this would be it!".

Negreanu's one time didn't work out because the river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Smirnov ended up with quad nines. Negrenau and Dwan got eliminated while Smirnov jumps to the top of the pack.

Perkins Feeling It

From under the gun, Bill Perkins raised to 150,000. Tom Dwan called from the cutoff seat and Mikhail Smirnov called from the small blind.

The three players saw the flop come down {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Smirnov checked. Perkins bet 250,000 and Dwan made it 560,000. Smirnov got out of the way and then Perkins moved all in for 1.53 million.

"JG, it's in!" yelled out Perkins to his friend and poker player Jeff Gross on the rail. A few moments later he yelled, "Antonio, it's all in!" over to Antonio Esfandiari on the other side of the room.

Dwan was tanking while Esfandiari yelled, "Perky lives!"

"One time, Perky!" yelled back Perkins.

"You're all in, hands up!" said Esfandiari and Perkins threw his hands up above it head. "Ok, hands down!" yelled back Esfandiari.

After Dwan folded, Perkins then said, "I'm just not going to sit and wait for my miracle. I'm going to stand up and fight! I'm so lucky I can scream. I'm going to scream! AAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
