Big First Hand Back Between Hellmuth and Banjour

On the first hand after the break, Frederic Banjout asked the dealer what the blinds were and then raised to 350,000. Action folded to Phil Hellmuth in the big blind and he verified the raise was to 350,000 before announcing a reraise.

"2.2 million," said Hellmuth before sliding out the chips. Banjout called right away and the flop came down {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Hellmuth and Banjout quickly checked the flop and then the turn brought the {4-Clubs}. "One million," said Hellmuth and Banjout called straight away.

The river was the {K-Spades} and Hellmuth checked. Banjout thought for a minute while shuffling his cards back and forth. He then checked behind and showed the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Hellmuth mucked and Banjout won the pot.

Steven Check-Raises Voulgaris

From middle position, Haralabos Voulgaris raised to 225,000 and Brandon Steven called from the big blind. On the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, both players checked to see the {6-Clubs} land on the turn. After Steven checked, Voulgaris bet 375,000. Steven check-raised to 875,000 and Voulgaris folded.

Rast Ends Bright's Tournament

Bob Bright
Bob Bright

Bob Bright was just all in for his final 1.3 million chips, and he was up against Brian Rast.

Bright turned over {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, and was in need of serious help since Rast tabled {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The flop brought out {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Bright picked up some extra outs. Every ten would give him a straight, but the {2-Spades} on the turn took away one of those outs. Bright was looking to catch an ace or a non-spade ten on the river, but he missed. The river was the {3-Spades} and Bright was eliminated.

Kings Again For Rast; Shak Busto

Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Dan Shak just busted in a massive pot in which Brian Rast woke up with pocket kings once again.

Rast had put 425,000 on top of Dan Shak's initial raise when we arrived on the scene. Shak moved all in for just under four-million chips and Rast made the call.

Dan Shak showed {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and was trailing Rast's {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, and Shak was eliminated.

After Shak left the table we overheard him say the following.

"He can only call with a very big hand there, he has to fold a lot of hands," Shak said as he was very disappointed with being eliminated from the tournament.
