Brammer Booms a Double Through Chartier

Action folded to Sam Chartier on the button and he raised to 8,000. Christopher Brammer was in the small blind and reraised to make it 22,500 to go. Play got back to Chartier and he reraised to 44,000. Brammer took some time and then reraised to 72,500. Chartier moved all in for around 260,000 and Brammer called for less.

Brammer turned over the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and was all in for 170,500 total against Chartier's {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Brammer had spiked a Broadway straight right of the bat to take the lead. The turn {5-Diamonds} and river {5-Clubs} gave no help to Chartier and he sent over the chips.

Chartier was left with 88,000 while Brammer moved to over 350,000 in chips.

Maimone's Straight Beats Phillips

From the button, Carter Phillips raised to 13,500. In the big bind, Nick Maimone made the call and the flop came down {J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Maimone checked and Phillips bet 16,000. Maimone called.

The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {3-Hearts} land on the river. Maimone checked and Phillips bet 30,000. Maimone fired back with a check-raise to 120,000 and Phillips snapped.

Maimone turned over the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a six-high straight — a.k.a. the nuts. Phillips showed just the {5-Clubs} and mucked his other card.

Maimone moved to 670,000 and Phillips dropped to 536,500.

After the hand, Matt Marafioti said he also folded a five and said he had jack-five of spades. "You really took that long to fold?" said Haralabos Voulgaris, citing that Marafioti took a bit of time to fold preflop.

"I didn't take that long," came back Marafioti.

"Really? You looked at your cards 10 different ways," finished Voulgaris.
