A player in middle position opened for 150 and was flatted by another player directly behind him. Directly behind *him,* J.C. Tran cut out a raise to 550. Everyone else folded, including the original raiser and caller and Tran scooped the pot.
The tournament clocks all read that there are 4,000 plus entrants. For today's purposes we will just use the Day 1b players in our tick box. A total 1,740 players played Day 1a.
