...And Loses Some Immediately After

Soon after winning his last large pot, Trickett was involved in a hand where the board read {Q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Trickett was in the small blind and heads up against the big blind. He bet 4,300 into a pot of about 5,000 and the player in the big blind called.

The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Trickett led once again. This time his opponent was facing a bet of 9,600. Trickett's opponent responded by moving all in for about 19,000 total. Trickett let out a laugh at the bet and threw his hand to the muck.

Cooper Crippled

We happened upon Michael "The Great MJ" Cooper's table and saw he was sitting with just 4,700. He saw us looking and informed us it was the result of an aces-versus-kings situation, where he held the kings and lost a 60,000 pot.

Gus Loses a Few Chips

Over on Gus Hansen's table, him and one opponent had played out a hand with a {5-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board showing, with PokerNews arriving at the table on the river. At this point there was already over 9,000 in the pot and Chris Brown was betting 5,875. Hansen looked pained as he went into the tank. He was muttering under his breath and we could catch was, "Can't have that, he he cant have that." Eventually he seemed to talk himself into it, flicking out a call.

When Brown tabled {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, the straight was enough to send Hansen's cards into the muck and rake in the pot.

Blom With The Check-Raise...

Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

The player on the button opened for 675 and found one caller in Viktor Blom from the big blind.

The flop came {6-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Blom checked to his opponent, who tossed a clump of chips into the middle for an 850 bet.

Blom asked how much the bet was and then hurled two yellows and three black chips into the middle for a raise to 2,300. His opponent dejectedly slid his hand into the muck.

Blom hasn't strayed too far from the starting stack today - he is currently sitting on 26,000.
