Fricke Falls Short

We had heads up action between a middle position player and Jimmy Fricke on the button. The flop read {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and the middle position player bet out 1,200. Fricke justified it with himself and made the call.

The {3-Hearts} on the turn saw the middle position player slow down with a check. Fricke jumped on the opportunity and bet out 2,000 and the middle position player called.

The {8-Spades} then made an appearance on the river and the middle position player saw something he liked and bet out 3,000. Fricke took about 30 seconds to think about his course of action before ultimately putting in the call. The Fricke's opponent then exposed {Q-}{Q-} for two pair, queens and threes. This was seemingly good enough as Fricke deposited his cards in the muck.

Karr Chips Up Through Nguyen

We found Kenny Nguyen and Mclean Karr at the river on a {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} board. The pot was already north of 15,000 and Karr bet 4,300 on the river.

Nguyen stood from his chair and said, "The pot's too big, I call."

Karr tabled {6-Clubs} {6-Spades} for a set and Nguyen mucked his hand.

Wang Takes Some From Wretchy

Dan "Wretchy" Martin opened for 275 from early position and was called by Dan Heimiller, who was next to act. The cutoff then made the call, followed by Jacky Wang on the button and the player in the big blind, and it was five-way action to the {9-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts} flop.

Action checked to the cutoff and he bet 500, which both Wang and the big blind called. Martin then woke up with a check-raise to 2,000, which drove Heimiller and the cutoff from the hand. Wang proceeded to three-bet to 3,500, the button folded, and Martin quickly released his hand.
