Lacay On Right Side of Cooler

We don't know the exact action, but we do know that Ludovic Lacay and Sun Wong got in a raising war preflop. When we got to the table, we saw that Wong had a bet of 8,500 in front of him from the small blind, and that Lacay had clicked it back to 16,000 in the hijack. Wong made the call, and they went heads up to a flop of {3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Both players checked, and the turn brought the {q-Diamonds}. Wong checked to Lacay, who fired out 10,000. Wong responded with a min raise to 20,000, and Lacay asked Wong how much he had left. When he found out, Lacay tossed enough chips in to put Wong all in, and Wong made the call.

Lacay: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Wong: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

It was a brutal turn card for Wong, as he hit his set, but was drawing to one card in the deck for the win. It didn't come, as the river brought the {8-Diamonds}. Lacay collected the bounty, and the new chips he earned pushed him over the 100,000 mark.

Phil Ivey's 2012 WSOP Is Over

Phil Ivey (Day 1c) eliminated from the 2012 WSOP Main Event
Phil Ivey (Day 1c) eliminated from the 2012 WSOP Main Event

Phil Ivey had been quietly folding and waiting for a spot during the first several hands at his table. About 35 minutes into the day, he finally got involved.

Action folded to Rebhi Attiyah on the button and he limped in for 500. In the small blind, Pedro Piazuelo made the call and then Ivey raised to 2,500 out of the big blind with a little under 8,000 behind. Attiyah folded, but Piazuelo moved all in. Ivey snapped his head to the right when he heard Piazuelo make the all-in move and then looked back forward. With a fling of his cards, his hand went into the muck and Ivey fell shorter.

On the next hand, action folded back to Attiyah in the cutoff seat and he limped in for the second hand in a row. From the small blind, Phil Ivey raised all in for 7,675. Nick DiVella was in the big blind and took a minute to himself. He then made the call. Attiyah tanked long and hard before eventually folding his hand and letting DiVella battle with the at-risk Ivey.

Ivey showed the {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} for the smallest pair available. DiVella had the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

On the flop, the {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} fell and Ivey fell behind to DiVella's two pair. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Ivey needed to find one of the two remaining deuces on the river to stay alive.

The river completed the board with the {8-Hearts} and Ivey couldn't find what he needed. He was up and out of his chair in an instant, darting through to the back hallways and out of the Rio.

And with that, Ivey's 2012 World Series of Poker has come to an end.

Haddox Continues His Run

A player in early position raised it up to 1,600 and Randy Haddox called from middle position. The cutoff player also called, and action found its way onto the big blind who moved all in for 4,700. The initial raiser was the first to make the call, Haddox followed suit, and the cutoff did the same.

The flop came {K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} prompting a check from the early position player and a bet of 2,525 from Haddox. The cutoff paid to see the turn and the early position player folded.

The {Q-Clubs} then made an appearance on fourth street, and both Haddox and the cutoff checked. The dealer then plopped down the {4-Spades} on the river, it was here that Haddox bet out 9,900 and the cutoff folded.

Haddox scooped up the small side pot, but there was still a main pot to be won. Haddox flipped over {k-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for two pair kings and queens and the all in big blind mucked his cards and made his exit.

Heimann Chops Down Forrest

Gregory Heimann is one of many players still alive in the Main Event who are participating in the Onnit Last Sticker Standing Contest. The promotion awards the player sporting an Onnit sticker who lasts the longest a cool $5,000 prize. Heimann just helped his cause a bit by knocking out a tough opponent, five-time WSOP bracelet winner Ted Forrest.

Forrest began the day with a short stack, and when Heimann limped in from late position just now, Forrest took the opportunity to raise all in for his last 4,900. It folded back to Heimann who called, turning over {J-Spades}{10-Hearts} to Forrest's {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Forrest was still in front, but the {7-Diamonds} turn gave Heimann the straight, making the {J-Hearts} river no matter.

Kilpatrick Flushes Bognanni

Just before their table was broken into the Brasilia room, Kory Kilpatrick and Marco Bognanni tangled in a a pot.

The board read {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Kilpatrick's bet of 2,800 was called by Bognanni. Melanie Weisner, also in the hand, folded. The river fell the {8-Hearts} and Kilpatrick bet 6,600. Bognanni called again, but mucked when Kilpatrick tabled {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Grinder Applying Pressure

Action folded around to Daniel Quach who raised from middle position to 1,200. Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi made it 6,000 to go from the button and Quach called.

The dealer pounded the table and produced a flop of {7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Quach checked and Mizrachi continued out for 5,000. Quach quickly called and checked just as quick when the {3-Diamonds} turned.

Mizrachi fired another bullet, this time making it 10,000 to see the river. Quach obliged with a call and the {A-Spades} came on fifth. Quach checked once more and Mizrachi bet 15,000. Quach released his hand and Mizrachi dragged in the pot.

River Bet Delivers Pot to Delorenzogalvan

There was about 10,000 in the middle and the flop had come {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Spades} when Daniel Delorenzogalvan led with a bet of 6,000 from the blinds, getting one caller from early position and a fold from the cutoff. The turn then brought the {10-Spades}, putting a fourth spade on the board, and both Delorenzogalvan and his opponent checked.

The river was the {Q-Hearts}. Delorenzogalvan tanked for about three minutes, then bet 13,500, getting an instant fold from his opponent.

Hinkle Five-Bet Shoves

Frederik Jensen was under the gun when he opened the pot to 1,100. The action then folded around to Blair Hinkle and he three-bet to 2,525. The play was then sent to Stewart Yancik in the big blind and he would four-bet to 5,600. Jensen opted to get out of the way and it was back on Hinkle. After much thought and looking at his opponent's stack (Yancik had around 25,000 behind), Hinkly decided to five-bet shove. Yancik didn't look too excited about this play, leaning back in his chair and even chuckling to himself once or twice. Eventually he thought better of it, letting his cards slide into the muck as Hinkle raked up the pot.

For those that aren't familiar with Hinkle, he took down his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet in 2008, winning more than $500,000 for a victory in a $2,000 no-limit hold'em event. Since then, Hinkle has amassed quite the tournament record, even managing to finish fourth place in Event 38: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em at this year's WSOP. Chan Can't Call

Ten-time bracelet winner Johnny Chan opened to 1,200 from the button and action folded around to Scott Dagle in the big blind, who made the call.

The flop came {2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Dagle check-raised a 2,000 bet from Chan to 6,000. Chan tossed in a call.

Both players checked the {Q-Spades} turn, however, when the {5-Spades} completed the board, Dagle led out for a hefty 15,000 bet. Chan fell deep into the tank, rifling his chips and re-checking his cards a few times before eventually using a single chip to slide his hand into the muck.

Chan is down to 75,000 following the hit to his stack.

Madsen Five-Bet Shoves Into Karr

The player under the gun opened the betting with a raise to 1,200 only to have Jeff Madsen three-bet to 4,225 from middle position. Action then folded around to McLean Karr in the big blind.

"How much you start the hand with?" asked Karr.

"About thirty-four," replied Madsen.

Karr thought for a moment before pushing out a four-bet to 8,950 total. The under the gun player quickly got rid of his cards and Madsen replied to Karr by moving all in for around 34,000 total. Karr did not looked pleased.

"I have a hand," said Karr.

Karr tanked for over two minutes before finally flinging his cards to the muck and allowing Madsen to take down the pot.
