Blom Busts

Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

After a long up-and-down day, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has been eliminated here during the final half-hour of Day 1c.

In his final hand, Blom raised from early position, an opponent reraised behind, and Blom called. The flop came {6-}{5-}{J-}, Blom led for 5,000, his opponent raised to 20,000, Blom pushed all in for about 55,000 total, and his opponent called.

Blom showed {4-}{4-} and his opponent {K-}{K-}, and when the turn and river brought no help to Blom he hit the rail.

Juanda Runs Into Set

We caught up to the action to see John Juanda and another player heads up in a pot of about 10,000 chips.

With the flop reading {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, Juanda fired out a bet of 6,800 only to have his opponent raise to 16,000. Juanda called and the turn was the {3-Diamonds}.

Juanda decided to check to the raiser and his opponent fired 21,000 into the center of the table. After about a minute, Juanda threw out a call. Fifth street was the {Q-Diamonds} and the action went check-check.

Juanda's opponent showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Juanda flung his cards to the muck. The five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner is now sitting on about 143,000.

"Hit the Showers"

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Danny "Maholla" Johnson and Bryan Veach haven't stopped shouting for the better part of the last two levels. Johnson is doing his best Hodor impersonation, yelling "Maholla" every other second, and Veach is blurting out whatever pops into his head, but he's also echoing Johnson in saying, "Maholla."

Two players, including poker writer Rachel Kranz, took offense to the noise and calamity, and repeatedly asked the floor to do something. Unfortunately, Johnson and Veach aren't breaking any rules, so there's nothing that the floor can do.

When one of the players was eliminated, Johnson and Veach told the gentleman to "hit the showers." An orbit or two later, Kranz was eliminated as well, and she was also told to "hit the showers."

Kranz is currently asking the floor to do anything that they can do to rectify the situation, but again, there's nothing that can be done because Johnson and Veach aren't breaking any rules.

Luske Snags a Sneaky One

The flop read {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Marcel Luske was first to act and he opted to check. His later positioned opponent did the same and both players were allowed to see the turn.

The {7-Spades} then rolled off the deck and Luske bet out 4,000 and his opponent called. The dealer then landed the {a-Clubs} on the river and Luske checked. The later position player then bet out 7,200. Luske's response was to raise to 17,200. After a minute or so of thinking Luske's opponent made the call and Luske flipped over {8-Spades}{5-Spades} for three of a kind fives. Luske's opponent mucked and Luske raked in the pot.

Andy Frankenbusted

Andy Frankenberger
Andy Frankenberger

The flop read {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}, and action was on Andy Frankenberger who bet out, Johnny Chan was the only other person in the hand and he opted to raise. Frankenberger countered by moving all in and Chan made the call. As is the custom cards were flipped over and both players saw where they were standing, and it was Frankenberger on top.

Frankenberger: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Chan: {9-}{9-}

The {j-Spades} fell on the turn, solidifying Frankenberger's double up even more, but the {9-Spades} on the river put the hand in Chan's favor and Frankenberger was sent home.
