Blom's Gonna Blom

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has been active as usual throughout Level 6, involved in hands nearly every time we've passed by his table today. Here are a couple of recent ones involving the swingy Swede.

In the first the board read {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and there was about 5,000 in the middle when a middle position player pushed out a bet of 2,000 and Blom quickly called from late position. The river then brought the {A-Spades} and a check from Blom's opponent. Blom quickly fired 6,300, and his opponent didn't waste much time before saying he was calling.

Blom watched his opponent turn over {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for aces, and Blom patted the felt, acknowledging his opponent's call before pushing his cards to the dealer.

That hand had knocked Blom back down under the 100,000-chip mark, but soon after he was at it again, this time raising to 1,100 from middle position. Timothy Adams then reraised to 3,000 from a couple of seats over, and when it folded back to Blom he called.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}. Blom checked, Adams bet 3,100, and Blom called. The turn brought the {10-Diamonds}, and again Blom check-called a bet from Adams, this time for 8,000.

The river was the {2-Clubs}. Blom checked one more time, and Adams fired yet again, pushing out 19,300. Blom tanked for some time, then called, tabling {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. His nines were good, as Adams had but {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

Cada Slips

2009 Main Event Champion Joe Cada opened for 1,200 from under the gun and was called by the player directly behind him and the player in the small blind. Todd Burgers then re-popped it to 4,000 from the big blind. Cada flatted, but the other two folded for a heads-up pot.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Burgers fired 5,600 into the middle. Cada grimaced and slid his hand into the muck - conceding the pot to Burgers.

Cada has slipped a bit since the day began, however, he is still in great shape with 113,000.

De Meulder Gets Funky

Calvin Anderson just raised under the gun, after which the action was folded to Christophe De Meulder. The Belgian pro three-bet from the cutoff to 2,800 and, and the button and blinds folded.

Anderson put in a four-bet to 6,600, but De Meulder wasn't done with the hand. He five-bet to 12,600 and took down the pot without showdown.

De Meulder is off to a good start, but Anderson still has him covered.
