Filippi Can't Beat Jacks

Level 4

Hold'em

Amnon Filippi raised from middle position, and the button three-bet him. Filippi made the call.

Filippi checked the {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop, and he called his opponent's bet. The turn was the {4-Spades}, and Filippi again check-called. Both players checked the {5-Spades} river, and Filippi turned over {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a pair of fours. His opponent showed {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} though and took the pot.

Chad Forces a Fold

Level 3

Stud

World Series of Poker announcer Norman Chad completed from first position with a {k-Hearts} and was called in one spot by a player showing {3-Clubs}. Chad bet fourth when he caught a {5-Spades} and his opponent a {7-Hearts}. He then checked fifth when he got a {10-Spades} and his opponent a {4-Spades}. His opponent checked back, and Chad bet sixth and seventh.

Chad: {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Chad won the pot when his opponent folded to his final bet.

Level 3

Hold'em

Scoop for the Birthday Boy

Level 3
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Stud Eight or Better

Three players were involved in a pot on sixth street with the following boards:

Seat One: {2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Spades}
Jeff Madsen: {9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Seat Seven: {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

The player in seat one bet, Jeff Madsen raised and the player in seat seven reraised. The first player folded, and Madsen made it four bets. His opponent called. Madsen fired again after seventh and was called once more.

Madsen showed {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} in the hole for a flush and a seven-low. His opponent had {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-}, so Madsen, who is sporting a pair of birthday balloons tied to a bag behind him, scooped the pot.

"Happy birthday," his opponent said to the now-28 year old.

Bach Has Three Ducks

Level 3

Stud

We found David Bach in a stud pot with an ace-deuce against a ten-nine. Bach fired every street, and his opponent called down.

Bach: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}/{a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Bach's trips were good. Bach won the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. tournament in 2009 for $1,276,806.
