Negreanu Moves On

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu is Done Here on Day 1
Daniel Negreanu is Done Here on Day 1

Daniel Negreanu quickly used his last bullet to double up, and all he needed was quads in the flop to make it happen.

We saw Negreanu's {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} tabled in front of his stack, with a board of {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} separating him and Brice Lin, who made the wheel straight on the turn {A-}{5-}.

Negreanu was able to grab the victory a few hands later when Negreanu's {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} was able to best Lin's {Q-}{8-}. Both players paired the queen but Negreanu's larger kicker allowed him to seize the victory on the match.

Radoja Conquers Meyer

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Mark Radoja has become the latest player to taste victory here in the Amazon room. On his final hand with Johannes Meyer, the two got all of the money in preflop racing for Meyer's life.

Meyer: {10-}{10-}
Radoja: {A-}{J-}

Radoja was able to spike an ace on the turn and that was all she wrote for Meyer's tournament life.

Two More Move On

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Three more matches have come to a conclusion. First, 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Joe Cada was able to overcome Helio Liberman to score a round-one victory.

Finally, Benjamin Pollak was able to best Brian Smith in order to move on to the next round.

Negreanu Down to His Last Bullet

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Holding {K-}{7-} against Brice Lin's {A-}{6-}, Daniel Negreanu got the last of his second starting stack into the middle, but a {2-}{4-}{a-}{8-}{q-} board brought him no help.

Kid Poker is now down to his last 10,000 bullet, and he will have to come out firing if he hopes to overcome a now serious disadvantage in relative stack size.

Ivey Ousted, Touil Moves On

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Phil Ivey opened with a raise from the button and Fabrice Touil three-bet enough to put a short-stacked Ivey all in. Ivey called for his tournament life and showed {K-}{Q-} which was up against Touil's {A-}{2-}.

Neither player improved on the board and Touil was able to take it down with his ace high.

Ludovic Lacay Leaves Dani Stern Lost

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Ludovic Lacay has defeated Dani Stern, advancing to the second round of this $10,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship.

Lacay was the winner of the 2012 PokerStars EPT San Remo Main Event, and a win in this event would solidify his status as one of the best European players in the world.

Staszko Slays Bianco

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

After a series of raises before the flop, Martin Staszko and Salvatore Bianco took in a flop of {3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Bianco shipped the rest of his chips in. Staszko snapped him off and rolled over {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} which was well ahead of Bianco's {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} and Bianco was not able to catch up as the {4-Clubs} struck the felt. The 2011 WSOP Main Event runner-up will be moving on to the next round.

Pellegrino and Esfandiari Advance

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Two more players have advanced to the next round.

Antonio Esfandiari was able to best Josh Brikis in their match while at the next table over Vanessa Selbst fell to Bryan Pellegrino.

Negreanu Loses First Bullet

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

We arrived at the table to find Daniel Negreanu ship all in for the remainder of his first bullet. Brice Lin called but winced when he saw that he was behind.

Negreanu: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Lin: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Lin found a pair and took the lead on the {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop but Negreanu picked up outs to make a straight as the {Q-Clubs} turned. The river, however, was the {Q-Spades} and Negreanu was forced to cash in his first lammer.
