Joe Cada On to the Next One

Joe Cada Chasing His Second Bracelet
Joe Cada Chasing His Second Bracelet

After reaching the final table of the Six-Max event earlier in the week, Joe Cada is working his way through another tournament in steady fashion.

Cada got the rest of Timothy Adams' chips after opening for 4,800, and calling Adam's shove of 32,000 with {A-}{5-}. Holding just {Q-}{10-}, Adams needed help to survive, but a clean runout gave the match to Cada.

Kevin Stammen and Nestor Martinez Are Through to Third Round

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Nestor Martinez just won his match by prevailing in a coin flip, after his {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} survived five board cards against {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. The final runout of {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts} left Martinez' opponent with no pair, and his eights were good enough to stam his ticket to the third round of play.

Meanwhile, Keven Stammen stood up with a smile on his face after winning his match, and he will soon take his seat for the third round.

Davidi Kitai Flies to the Next Round

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Belgian pro Davidi Kitai advanced to Round 3, but not before a serious sweat. After getting the chips into the middle with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}, Kitai was dominating his opponent's {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, but the flop of {7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} brought the possibility of a diamond flush into play.

The {10-Clubs} on the turn was safe for Kitai, as was the {8-Hearts} on the river, and despite this Maalox moment, he will resume play as one of our last 64 competitors.

Cada Fires Last Bullet

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

We arrived at the table to see Joe Cada all in before the flop with one lammer behind. Timothy Adams was pondering his action and eventually decided to call.

Adams: {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Cada: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Adams took the lead on the {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{J-Spades} flop and never let up as the {9-Spades} hit the turn and the {10-Clubs} fell on the river. Cada flung his last lammer toward the dealer and is now on his last leg here in this heads up match.

Antonio Esfandiari Has Disappeared From Round 2

Antonio Esfandiari called Martin Jacobsen's preflop shove with {Q-}{10-}, but found himself trailing the {A-}{J-} tabled by the Swedish pro. No help arrived on board for the Magician, and his run here tonight ends in the second round.

A Flurry of Bustouts Sends Three to Third Round

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Ali Eslami, and Rob Tepper have all won their second round matchups, earning the right to return for the Round of 64 that will begin later tonight.

Timoshenko, who finished second in this event in 2011, advanced when his {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} won a flip against {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}, on the {k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} board.

Eslami finished off his short stacked opponent with {A-}{7-}, after his ace-high bested {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} on a {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades} runout.

Tepper moved on after his {8-}{10-} caught up to his Max Steinberg's {A-}{Q-} when a ten hit the deck.
