Gorodinsky Takes One in Hold'em

Level 2

Limit Holdem

Mike Gorodinsky raised to 400 preflop found a lone caller in the small blind to see a {6-Clubs}{A-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop spread.

The small blind led out for 200 and Gorodinsky called before he bet 400 when he {A-Hearts} landed on the turn. Gorodinsky's opponent made the call, but would then check-fold for 400 when the river fell the {10-Clubs}.

With that pot Gorodinsky climbs to over 22,000 in chips.

Decent Razz Pot for the Defending Champ

Level 2

Razz

David "Bakes" Baker: {x-}{x-} / {6-}{8-}{4-}{6-} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{j-}{8-}{3-}/ {x-}

Last year, David "Bakes" Baker won this very event for 451,779, though that is when it cost $10,000 to enter. Baker is in today's field looking for a title defense and his third gold bracelet.

In a recent hand, a player with a {K-} brought it in and another player completed with a {4-}. A third player in middle position called, Baker did the same and the bring-in folded. Baker took the lead on fourth and fired out a bet, and the man who originally completed got out of the way. The only other player in the pot had caught a {J-} but made the call nonetheless.

Baker proceeded to bet fifth and then paired up on sixth after his opponent called. Baker proceeded to raise after his opponent bet, a call was made and then his opponent check-called a bet on seventh. Baker tabled {a-}{3-}{j-} for an 8-6-4-3-A low, which was good as his opponent mucked his cards.

Despite winning that hand, Baker is still down a bit from the starting stack.

15-Minute Recess

Level 2

The first two levels of play are in the books, and as a reward the players have been granted a 15-minute recess. Who'll play on the jungle gym and who will take on Dan Shak in tetherball? Probably no one, but we bet there will be a big line at the restroom.

See you in 15!

Tryba and Eslami Chop It Up

Level 3

Stud Hi-Lo

Facing a bring-in and two calls, Chris Tryba completed to 300 and was met with four callers. Tryba fired out bets on every street with two of his opponents calling him down the whole way while two dropped out on fifth and sixth.

Player: {X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} (folded on sixth)
Player: {X-}{X-} / {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts} (folded on fifth)
Ali Eslami: {X-}{X-} / {J-Spades}{K-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} / {X-}
Tryba: {X-}{X-} / {3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} / {X-}
Player: {X-}{X-} / {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} / {X-}

Following his opponent's calls, Tryba tabled his {A-Spades}{2-Hearts} / {7-Diamonds} for aces and a perfect seven-low. Eslami quickly turned over his {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} and collected half the pot from Tryba with his kings-up.
