ElkY Enters, ElkY Exits

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier started today with just 19,300, and after missing most of the first level arrived to find his stack down to less than half that amount. He sat through a few hands in Level 12, then a hand arose in which a player opened from under the gun, Max Steinberg reraised to 8,000 from the cutoff, then Kory Kilpatrick reraised again to 19,400 from the button.

With a shrug, Grospellier tossed his last couple of thousand in the middle from the small blind, and after the big blind and original raiser both folded, Steinberg called. The flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, and Steinberg checked. Kilpatrick pushed out a bet of 18,500, and when Steinberg came back with a check-raise to more than 40,000, Kilpatrick stepped aside.

Steinberg turned over {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and Grospellier showed his {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. The {J-Hearts} on the turn gave ElkY a chance to survive, but the river was the {4-Spades} and Grospellier is out.
