Lichtenberger Loses An Important One

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Andrew Lichtenberger opened to 7,000 under-the-gun. Everybody folded to the small blind who shoved all in for exactly ten big blinds. The big blind folded and Lichtenberger, after some thinking, made the call. Lichtenberger showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was dominated by the small blind's {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. No help for Lichtenberger with {K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} | {2-Hearts} | {7-Clubs} on the table and he has to continue with just 19 big blinds.

Graves Busts Ausmus

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Dustin Graves raised it up to 6,500 in early position, and Jeremy Ausmus called on the button. The big blind also came along, and the flop came {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. It was checked to Graves, who fired out 8,500. Ausmus asked how much it was, then started tanking. After about 30 seconds, the big blind folded out of turn, and was forced to take his cards back. This may have influenced Ausmus's decision making, as after tanking for about two minutes, he moved all in for 72,000. It got back to Graves, and he quickly called.

Ausmus: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Graves: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Ausmus's middle pair was in rough shape against the pocket rockets of Graves, and the board would bring him no help, coming {j-Spades} and {5-Hearts}. After collecting that pot, Graves has jumped his stack up to 165,000.

Plenty of Extras Being Given Away At This Year's WSOP

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The buzz inside the walls of the Rio extends beyond just the tournaments on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule. Online poker in Nevada is a very, very hot topic right now, and WSOP.com is making a lot of noise.

While the site has yet to launch, you can head to the Lambada Room of the Rio or look for one of the beautiful and friendly WSOP.com ladies walking the hallways to sign up for a free, personal WSOP.com online poker account. This is a great way to get a jump on the site's registration, and plenty of people have already taken this opportunity.

What's more is that the WSOP will be hosting daily raffles for everyone that has taken the time to register for WSOP.com at the Rio. What can you win? Plenty of fantastic prizes including 36 WSOP seats!

Players 21 years of age and older who sign up for a WSOP.com account will automatically be entered into the “36-Seat Giveaway” where a randomly-selected winner will win a seat into the next day’s first WSOP gold bracelet event. One of the events eligible in this promotion is the $111,111 One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em tournament that is expected to feature a $10,000,000 prize pool and allow you to play poker with the biggest names in the game. In total, $182,333 in WSOP seats, including a seat to the WSOP Main Event, are being given away during this one-of-a-kind WSOP.com promotion.

In addition to the 36-Seat Giveaway, a “Hot Seat” promotion will allow any player who signs up for a WSOP.com online account and wears their WSOP.com patch on their chest at the table while playing an event to be randomly selected to receive 500 bonus dollars deposited directly into their WSOP.com online account once the site has received all regulatory approvals and launches.

With 62 WSOP gold bracelet events and three winners promised for the Main Event, this promotion includes $32,000 worth of value to those participating.

Marc-Andre Ladouceur Busted

Joao Dornelesneto opened the hijack to 6,500 and received a call from his neighbor on the button. Marc-Andre Ladouceur squeezed all in from the small blind for 39,000 total. The big blind gave up his chips and so did Dornelesneto. The player on the button thought about it and eventually said: "Yeah, I'm going to call you". Ladouceur tabled {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and was up against {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. "Oh nice hand. I set you up for the squeeze but you found a real nice hand" the player on the button said.

The flop was still good for Ladouceur: {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. He could feel the bad news coming though. Ladouceur predicted a six on the turn, which would give his opponent an open-ended, but in fact the {7-Spades} would pop up giving the button a pair. Ladouceur could still hit a king or spade for the double up but he would fail on that mission. The {2-Diamonds} on the river was a complete blank and Ladouceur made his way to the exit in 83th place.

Short Stack Wiggling

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The player under-the-gun opened to 6,500 and a couple positions in Belgian player Bart Lybaert made it 11,500 to go. The other players, including the blinds, folded and the initial-raiser made the call. {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts} on the flop and under-the-gun check-called a 7,500 bet. Both players checked the {7-Diamonds} on the turn and the {2-Clubs} completed the board. The under-the-gun player bet out 15,500 and Lybaert folded after some thinking.

Gates and Scott Dance

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Kara Scott
Kara Scott

From under the gun, Garry Gates opened with a raise to 6,000. Action folded around the Kara Scott in the small blind, and she put in a reraise to 15,000. After the big blind folded, Gates sized up Scott's stack, then made the call to take a flop in position.

On the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} flop, Scott checked quickly. Gates reached for chips and tossed out a bet of 15,000. Scott made the call.

The turn was the {8-Spades}, and both players checked to see the {9-Diamonds} land on the river. Slowly, Scott began to count out a bet, positioning a couple of towers from her stack. Just as she was about to slide her bet forward, Gates tossed his cards into the muck and said, "Nice hand."

Scott collected the pot and moved to 180,000, while Gates was knocked back a little to 146,000.

Dorneles Neto Gets a KO

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The player under the gun +1 moved all in for his last 40,500, and Joao Dorneles Neto was next to act. He announced call, and save for a couple players who thought momentarily, everyone folded rather quickly.

Dorneles Neto: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Dorneles Neto had the best hand he could hope for against his opponent, but he would have to dodge some outs after the flop came down {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. A ten would give his opponnt a straight, but hte board ran down nines, coming the {9-Diamonds}, and the {9-Hearts}. After winning that hand, Dorneles Neto is back up to 250,000.

Hamby Unlucky

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Jared Hamby, who had just successfully 3-betted Andrew Lichtenberger the last hand, opened under-the-gun plus one to 7,000. The big blind made the call and the dealer brought out the first three community cards: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The big blind shoved all in for a little over 50,000 and Hamby, with some doubt in his voice, made the call almost immediately.

Hamby was in good shape with his {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} since the big blind showed up with {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The {A-Hearts} on the turn was a safe card for Hamby but the {K-Spades} on the river was not. He shook his head a couple of times, counting out the chips he owed in the mean time.
