Chad Brown entered the day second in chips of the final 117, but as he held even with his chip stack the field gradually caught up and passed him. By the time the dinner break arrive, Brown found himself having slipped back to below average status.
Soon after they returned he went with , risking his stack versus Lee Goldman's . Brown's hand was still good through the flop and turn, but the fell on fifth street to give Goldman trip queens and Brown headed to the cashier with his 39th-place ticket.
Dan Smith just doubled to survive versus Alex Manzano. All of the chips went in on a flop, with Smith holding top set with versus Manzano's flush draw with . The turn was the and river the , and Smith is back up over 110,000.
Meanwhile, Manzano is still in good shape following that hit as he currently occupies a spot near the top of the counts with 39 left.
