Love Up, Love Down, But Still In The Lead

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Imari Love raised to 1,000 from middle position and the player in the cutoff called.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Love continued for 1,500. His opponent popped it to 6,000, leading to Love shoving all in with the bigger stack. His opponent called all in for about 45,000 with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, leading Love's {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

The {8-Diamonds} turn gave Love additional outs to a straight, while the {K-Clubs} river completed his flush draw to give him the pot. That upped his stack to about 220,000 and he had increased it further to about 245,000 before losing about 50,000 to Tobias Reinkemeier.

Yu Gets A Double and a KO

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Ben Yu in and earlier WSOP event.
Ben Yu in and earlier WSOP event.

We didn't catch the preflop action which ended up with Ben Yu in a three-way all in, but lucky for us Yu was able to relay it.

Yu opened with a raise to 1,000. A few seats over, another player reraised all in for just about 4,000 total. A few seats over from him another player reraised to 10,000. Action folded back to Ben Yu who jammed all in for just about 21,000. The player who reraised to 10,000 called and the three went to a show down, and that's where we caught the action.

Yu: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Player 1: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Player 2: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The flop was absolute gin for Yu when it came down {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. He had flopped the nut straight and no one else in the hand even held a heart for the flush. The board completed with a {Q-Diamonds} and an {8-Diamonds} allowing Yu to catch the knockout, and the double up at the same time pushing him to just about 50,000 chips.

Sam Grafton Climbs to 125,000

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Popular British pro Sam Grafton is up to 125,000 thanks in part to flopping a full house and getting it paid off.

We joined the action on a {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board where Grafton had led for 1,000 from his seat in middle position and was facing a raise to 3,500 from the gentleman on the button. Grafton raised to 6,600 and his opponent called.

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Grafton made it 10,000 to play.

“I call,” said the button before turning over {J-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a full house, but Grafton revealed the {K-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a bigger full house and the win.

No Action For Evans

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Nicky Evans finds himself sat with 62,500 chips and is cruising along here in the 2013 WSOP Main Event.

In a hand that occurred moments ago, Evans opened to 1,025 from middle position and inly the big blind called. The pair shared a {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{6-Spades} flop and the big blind checked. Evans fired a continuation-bet of 1,050 and the big blind folded.

While not a big pot by any stretch of the imagination, they all count and Evans will take those uncontested pots every day of the week.

Bounahra Won’t Be Bullied

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We approached the table with the {j-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} on the board. Amal Bounahra, in the small blind, led for 2,150. The player in the hijack raised to 6,000 and after thinking about it for quite awhile, Bounahra called. The {k-Diamonds} turn came and with action on Bounahra, she again led for 7,150. This seemed to baffle her opponent, who after going in the tank decided to fold.
