Kilpatrick In a Spot

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Kory Kilpatrick has been occupying a difficult spot between two tough players for most of the evening, with Tommy Hang on his left and Tom Alner on his right. Kilpatrick is a tough player in his own right, though, and has been holding his own while maintaining a stack hovering just over 100,000 for the last couple of hours.

Just now Kilpatrick open-raised to 3,000 from late position, then saw Hang reraise to 9,000 behind him. It folded back and Kilpatrick called, then the flop came {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}. Kilpatrick checked, and when Hang began to set chips out for a bet, Kilpatrick quickly zipped his cards face down to the dealer, having instantly decided to pick a better spot to tangle.

P0ker H0 Extends Chip Lead

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Mark Kroon
Mark Kroon

Mark "P0ker H0" Kroon is enjoying himself today with the chip lead. In a recent hand, Kroon was in the big blind, and as other players were acting on their hands, he said very loudly, "This would be a really good time for a walk." As one player hesitated before folding, Kroon took a swig of beer and told him, "You don't wanna raise my blind." The other player disagreed, though, and raised to 2,800. Kroon started to look at his cards, and told the raiser with a smile, "I'm calling if I see a napkin here." Sure enough, Kroon called, and the dealer spread {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} on the flop. Both players checked, and then the preflop raiser bet 3,500 when the {3-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Both players quickly checked when the river was dealt, and Kroon turned over {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. His opponent mucked, and Kroon took the small pot to bring his stack up to 530,000.

Haxton Battling

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Isaac Haxton was just vying for another pot with an opponent that saw the pair reach the turn with about 35,000 in the middle and the board showing {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{Q-Spades}{K-Spades}. Haxton's opponent checked from the big blind, and Haxton bet 20,000. His opponent responded with a shove, and Haxton had to let his hand go.

Haxton was back raising on the next hand and was able to win a small pot as he tries to accumulate what he can during the second half of the last level of the night.

Brenes Calls, Loses

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Humberto Brenes opened for a raise from the cutoff, and only the button called. Brenes elected not to continuation-bet on the {5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and his opponent bet 3,200. Brenes made the call. The turn brought a {7-Diamonds}, and Brenes again check-called, this time for 4,200. A {j-Hearts} completed the board, and Brenes checked once more. His opponent fired a final bullet of 7,600.

Brenes called after thinking briefly, and his opponent showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a turned flush. Brenes showed a {j-Spades} before mucking his hand.

Tran Makes Great Laydown

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The board read {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} when we arrived to see JC Tran in the middle of a three way pot. There was about 15,000 in the middle, and the small blind checked to Tran in the big blind. He fired out 6,800, and both of his opponents called. The river brought the {k-Clubs}, and Tran bet again when it was checked to him, this time for 14,400. His other opponent raised to 32,000 rather quickly, and the small blind folded.

Tran immediately shook his head, and mumbled about three or four times "this is so sick." He ended up tanking for about two minutes before flashing a {3-} and mucking, and his opponet said "just this one time," before showing the whole table {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a full house. Tran dodged the massive bullet to keep his stack at 70,000.

Harman Exits

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Jennifer Harman
Jennifer Harman

We didn't see the hand but it was reported to us that Jennifer Harman's tens couldn't improve upon the kings of her opponent, and as a result she was eliminated from the tournament. She tweeted on Day 1 that she "never really had an upswing or a downswing" and that seems to be the case today as well. She did flop quads earlier but was never really able to get the momentum to swing in her favor.
