Boeree Sets One Up

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Liv Boeree opened to 3,400 from under the gun and was called by Randal Flowers in early position and the player in the big blind.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and action checked to Flowers who bet 6,500. The player in the big blind check-raised to 16,000, Boeree called, and Flowers folded. The {8-Spades} followed on the turn and the player in the big blind bet 18,000. Another call from Boeree landed the {7-Diamonds} river which her opponent fired 26,000 at. After a little while in the tank, Boeree called.

Her opponent showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for ace high, while Boeree tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for bottom set to win the pot.

Morris Active Early

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Greg Morris and Devin Christie have already tangled numerous times at their table, and just now we watched them battling over successive hands once again.

The first saw them reach the turn with the board showing {6-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Playing out of the big blind, Christie fired a nearly pot-sized bet of 20,000, and after some deliberation Morris called. The river then brought the {9-Diamonds} and checks from both players, and when Christie turned over {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, Morris mucked.

Morris was raising again on the next hand from middle position, and Christie defended his small blind with a call of Morris's 3,800-chip bet. The flop came {6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, and this time Christie check-folded to a continuation bet of 5,300 from Morris.

Both players have added to their stacks in Level 11, with Morris now sitting with over 330,000.

McEvoy's Aces Cracked

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tom McEvoy opened to 3,700 from middle position only to have Ernie Hou move all in for 29,000. McEvoy instantly called and the cards were placed on their backs.

McEvoy: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Hou: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The flop of {8-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} gave Hou a double gutshot, and when the turn landed the {K-Hearts} he started calling for a heart not realizing that he had turned the nut straight and that a heart would render him dead unless it was the {9-Hearts}.

The river landed the {2-Diamonds} and Hou was pushed the double to roughly 65,000 as McEvoy slipped back to 58,000 in chips.

Seiver Folds To Shove

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Christian Krupp limped in from middle position, and Bo Barrett followed suit. Action was then on Scott Seiver, and he bumped it up to 7,200. It folded back around to Krupp, who opted for the open limp shove play, moving all in for about 40,000. It got back to Seiver, who had a slightly disgusted look on his face before he ultimately kicked his hand in, giving Krupp the pot.

Despite losing that hand, it's been a great start of the day for Seiver, who has nearly doubled his starting stack of the day, sitting on 150,000.

Kaplan Doubles Through Jarvis

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Matt Jarvis raised to 3,300, and Jay Kaplan then three-bet to 9,000. Jarvis called, and the flop came {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Jarvis checked, and Kaplan bet 8,700. Jarvis thought for a minute before calling, and the dealer turned the {3-Clubs}. Kaplan led out with an all-in shove, and Jarvis went into the tank. After about two minutes, Jarvis asked for an exact count, and the dealer told him the bet was 53,600. Jarvis thought another three minutes before calling and turning over {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Kaplan, however, revealed a better overpair, {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. The river was the {5-Spades}, and Kaplan took the pot. He doubled up to 143,000 on the hand, while Jarvis dropped to 95000.

Green Doubles Through Bord

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Action folded to 2010 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event champion James Bord on the button, and he raised to 3,500. In the big blind was Laura Green, and she reraised all in for 19,800. Bord went into the tank, and eventually called after a couple of minutes.

Board held a dominated {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to Green's {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, and Green won the pot to double up. Bord slipped back to 119,000 in chips.

Schwarmann Shows a Bluff?

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Nick Schwarmann put an opponent to the test.
Nick Schwarmann put an opponent to the test.

Nick Schwarmann, on the button, called a four-bet before the flop for around 20,000, and he and hijack saw the {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} hit the board. The hijack continuation-bet 12,000, and Schwarmann made the call. The turn brought a {k-Spades}, and the hijack checked. Schwarmann bet 27,000, and his opponent wasted no time calling. The river was the {q-Spades}, completing possible flush and straight draws. The hijack checked, and Schwarmann put him all in for about 72,000. The player thought briefly before folding, and Schwarmann showed the {6-Clubs} as he mucked his hand.
