Things Get Worse For Chidwick

Level 3 : 100/200, 50 ante

We picked up with the action after the draw to see Stephen Chidwick and Erik Seidel engaged in a hand. With about 5,500 already in the middle, Chidwick pushed forward a bet of 8,500. Seidel called and Chidwick rolled over {A-}{8-}{2-}{2-}{2-} for trip deuces.

Seidel showed a winning {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and scooped the pot. Seidel now sits on 38,400 in chips while Chidwick has been knocked down to just 3,800.

Here's a Fun One

Level 3 : 100/200, 50 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu and two other players put in 7,175 each pre-draw in a reraised pot. The first player opted to draw one, Negreanu stood pat, and then the third player also stood pat. After the draw, the first player checked, Negreanu fired 15,600, and the third player went into the tank.

After tanking for a couple of long minutes, the player asked, "What should I do, Daniel?"

"It's a three-way pot, so I can't say," responded Negreanu with a laugh.

"Heck, I know what you have and I'm trying to figure out what I would do," commented Layne Flack from next to the player in the tank.

"I'd tell you, but I don't want to get thrown out of this thing," added Negreanu.

"I want you to get thrown out," said Flack.

After another minute or two, the player folded his hand. The other player in the hand — after patiently waiting, we might add — also mucked, and Negreanu almost jumped out of his seat.

""You want to see a fun hand! Look at this one!" he yelled, before tabling {Q-}{9-}{7-}{7-}{4-}. "I told myself, 'Fuck it, I'm just gonna win this pot!'"

Negreanu scooped the pot while the table got a good laugh and moved to 44,000.

"You have an eight-six?" asked Flack to the player who tanked.

"No, a ninety-eight," the player responded.

"Wow," finished Flack.

Rutter Fires, Baxter Folds

Level 3 : 100/200, 50 ante

Stuart Rutter raised it up to 800 from under the gun and it folded around to Billy Baxter in the cutoff. Baxter three-bet to 2,500 and it came back around to Rutter who called.

Rutter drew one card while Baxter rapped the table, signifying that he was pat. Rutter came out swinging for 5,200 and Baxter let his hand go. Rutter grabbed the pot and now has about 17,500 in chips.

Nguyen Over Anderson

Level 4 : 250/300, 75 ante

Don Nguyen made it 750 to go from under the gun and Huck Seed called out of the small blind. Calvin Anderson three-bet to 3,375 from the big blind and Nguyen called. Seed let go of his cards and the two were off to the draw.

Nguyen picked up one new card while Anderson opted to stand pat. Anderson checked post-draw and Nguyen came out with a bet of 3,800. Anderson flung forward a call and looked at Nguyen's {9-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Anderson flung his cards into the muck and last year's $50,000 Poker Players Championship runner-up was pushed the pot.

Nguyen's stack now sits around 51,000 while Anderson's has dropped to 23,500.

Pat Ninety-Seven for Rheem

Level 4 : 250/300, 75 ante

Chino Rheem raised to 900 from under the gun and it folded around to Naoya Kihara who called from the small blind. Billy Baxter folded his big blind and the two remaining players were off to the draw.

Both Kihara and Rheem tapped the table, signifying that each player was pat. Kihara checked and Rheem continued out for 1,600. Kihara stirred in his seat, cut out enough chips to call, and quickly riffled them while he thought. After about twenty seconds, he tossed them forward.

"Ninety-seven," said Rheem, fanning {9-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}. Kihara mucked and Rheem was pushed the pot.

Simultaneously, on the other side of the room, Scott Seiver was eliminated from play.
