Daniel Hirleman Eliminated in 21st Place ($8,559)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Daniel Hirleman
Daniel Hirleman

Daniel Hirleman came in as the chip leader but had a rough go of it and found himself short and all in against Calen McNeil. The hands were turned over:

Hirleman {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}
McNeil {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The board would run out {J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} and McNeil's pair of nines and low would be enough to knock Hirleman out in 21st place.

Scholl Triples Up

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Michael Stewart raised under the gun and was called by Ben Scholl on the button and Gary Benson in the big blind. Action checked to Scholl on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, and he put his last 6,000 in. Benson and Stewart called before checking through the {5-Clubs} turn and {10-Spades} river.

Scholl showed {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for trips to take the pot.

Luneau Continues Ascent

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Frankie O'Dell opened for a raise preflop and was three-bet by Alex Luneau. O'Dell made the call and the dealer fanned a flop of {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. O'Dell check-called Luneau's bet. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the action was the same with O'Dell check-calling a bet.

O'Dell then sprang into action on the {5-Hearts} river with a bet, but Luneau was having none of it as he put in a raise. O'Dell let his hand go and Luneau scooped the pot to move his stack above the 600,000 mark. O'Dell slips to 200,000.

Mike Hack Eliminated in 22nd Place ($8,559)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Mike Hack - 22nd Place
Mike Hack - 22nd Place

Calen McNeil just check-called the turn and bet the river as the community cards came {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Mike Hack called, leaving himself just 11,000, but McNeil showed a backdoor flush with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and won the pot.

Hack was eliminated two hands later.

Guillaume Rivet Eliminated in 23rd Place ($8,559)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Guillaume Rivet
Guillaume Rivet

Greg Raymer raised from early position and Guillaume Rivet called from the big blind. The flop came {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Rivet would get his last 13,000 in the middle and was at risk.

Rivet: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Spades} — top pair
Raymer: {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} — a low draw with a pair of threes

The turn was the {5-Clubs} giving Raymer a low but Rivet still held the high hand. That would change when the dealer put out the {2-Diamonds} on the river giving Raymer a wheel to eliminate Rivet in 23rd place.

Chanthabouasy Survives Again

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Steve Chanthabouasy can't be knocked out right now.
Steve Chanthabouasy can't be knocked out right now.

Greg Raymer raised preflop from the cutoff and was called by Daniel Makowsky on the button and Steve Chanthabouasy in the big blind. Chanthabouasy bet out on the {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, and Raymer raised. Makowsky called, Chanthabouasy made it three bets, and both of his opponents called. Chanthabouasy put his last 13,000 in on the {5-Spades} turn, and he got called twice again. Raymer and Makowsky then both checked the {k-Hearts} river.

Chanthabouasy showed {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for top two on the flop. Raymer had {a-}{9-}{8-}{3-} for a weaker two pair, as well as a spade flush draw on the turn, and Makowsky had {a-}{j-}{2-}{5-}. Chanthabouasy scooped the pot to survive.

"They Won't Let Me Leave"

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Chris Tryba was short and he and Greg Raymer exchanged a series of raises preflop that saw Tryba all in and at risk.

Tryba: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Raymer: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}

Raymer said to Tryba "I like your hand."

The dealer ran out the board: {J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

"I like my hand a lot," said Tryba as he hit a wheel to scoop the pot. Tryba added "they won't let me leave" with a smile on his face.

Bucci Has Rivet Short

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Guillaume Rivet just called a river bet from Jim Bucci on a board of {10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}, and Bucci showed {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the nuts. Rivet's now badly in need of a double with just over one bet left.

Kost Gets the Best of Hack

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Michael Hack opened for a raise and Nicholas Kost three-bet. Everyone folded back to Hack who made the call. The flop came {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and the chips started to fly. Hack checked, Kost bet, Hack check-raised, Kost four-bet, and Hack capped it. Kost called.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and Hack bet and was called by Kost. The river was the {10-Clubs} and Hack bet and called when Kost raised. The cards were turned over:

Kost: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} — nut low with two pair
Hack: {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} — nut low with one pair

Kost received three-quarters of the pot and Hack was left shaking his head.
