Mizrachi Sending Table 16 Through the Grinder

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is on a tear over at Table 16. We're not sure how he got them all, but Mizrachi is sitting on a massive stack of 110,000. What's more, everyone else at the table is sitting on 18,000 or less. This has provided Mizrachi a prime opportunity to push his stack around, and he is doing just that.

Volpe Loves Poker

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

Fresh off of his victory in the no-limit deuce-to-seven event, Volpe decided that he wanted to play more poker. Stacked at twice the starting stack, we're unsure whether he registered at the break and doubled or found a moment to multi-table.

Either way, no rest for the weary apparently and...

Volpe raised to 1,025 on the button and Kevin MacPhee called from the big blind. The flop was {6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and MacPhee checked. Volpe bet 1,500 and MacPhee made the call. The turn was the {a-Spades} and Macphee checked again.

Volpe bet 2,225 and MacPhee called. The river was the {a-Hearts} and it went check-check. MacPhee tabled {a-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Volpe mucked.

Check out his winner interview with Sarah Grant.

Hoivold Takes a Big Pot

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

We walked up to a board of {3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Andreas Hoivold raised to 11,100 after a bet of 4,000 from his opponent. His opponent made the call and {9-Spades} fell on the river.

After a check from his opponent, Hoivold bet 18,000 and his opponent made the call, but mucked when Hoivold tabled {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for the full house.

Tehan Picking Up Aces Left and Right

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Joe Tehan has been on a little heater as of late. In fact, if you believe his table, he’s picked up aces three times in Level 7. In the latest instance of pocket rockets, Tehan engaged in a preflop raising war with an unknown opponent, who ended up getting his stack of 18,000 or so in the middle.

Tehan: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-}{j-}

The {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop was gin for Tehan, which meant his opponent needed to catch either running jacks or straight cards. The {J-Diamonds} turn kept the former option alive, but the one outer would not come as the {5-Clubs} blanked on the turn to send the robust pot to Tehan.

Ivey is Out

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Phil Ivey got his last ten big blinds in the middle from the small blind and his opponent in the big blind quickly made the call with {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Ivey needed to find some help for his {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, but the board ran out {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Ivey's tournament and massage came to an abrupt halt.
