Bouskila Dominates Table

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

When we arrived at the table of Mosh "Maurice" Bouskila, he pretty much played three hands in a row. The first one raising a {4-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop from 400 to 1,200 and then flashing the {K-Hearts} when the opponent folded. In the next hand he three-bet preflop and then fired the {6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} river for 1,700 to enforce yet another fold.

Next to him we have Frenchman Michel Pomaret at an above average stack as well.

Nino Has No Baby Stack

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

We arrived on the {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} turn and George Nino bet 13,000, enough to put his opponent all in. The pot was already blown up to approximately 10,000 and the opponent called with {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

Nino turned over {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and he was begging towards the dealer not to put a seven on the river. The final community card was the {10-Diamonds} and Nino scored the knockout. At the same table we also have Donna Rosenthal, who is still sitting very comfortably at 34,000.

"Just a Bunch of Small Pots"

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Well it must have been more than that, but that's what he told us and Barny Boatman chipped up nicely. He was just stacking the chips after another successful hand and joins the current big stacks. If we lose about another 260 players, all remaining participants will be in the Brasilia room.

It’s The Quiet Ones You Have to Watch

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

As we venture around the floor an emerging big stack occasionally catches our eye.

Ramana Epparla was one of those who has quietly amassed nearly 33,000, going on for 80 big blinds.

He has a quiet yet confident unassuming presence at the table but a quick search online shows that he has recorded cashes amounting to $69,638.

Hanging In There

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Simon Trumper was down to 5,000 but just picked up {A-}{A-} versus {J-}{J-} to double back to 11,000.

Mick McCloskey didn't get called when he moved all in. He raised to 800 from the cutoff and the big blind called, then elected to fold when the Irishman moved all in after the {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop. McCloskey showed {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

Sharp As a Tack

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Checking up on Kevin Detienne on Table 33 it seemed his stack had suffered something of a blow. Sat to his left though with a smile on his face and a pile of chips in front of him was Ron Blount.

“It’s pronounced Blunt you know, but I’m pretty sharp.” He told us that he had acquired most of his chips in, “Two or three hands. I’m running pretty hot.”

Rivered Boatman

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Barny Boatman doesn’t seem to be having much luck winning his races today. As we passed his table he updated us on the latest misfortune which wasn’t even strictly a race. He told us he had got his opponent’s 4,500 stack in the middle when Boatman held {q-}{q-} against the {a-}{10-}.

His opponent hit Broadway on the river and Boatman saw a potential 10,000 chip pot slip through his fingers.
